OK I will play your BS game. Name 5 positives that have led to a SB Championship for us since 01/13/69 & then I will name 5 positives since I became a STHer in 1965

You are a troll. You tried to bait nyjunc into talking about Obrien in your stupid Kyle Wilson topic and failed, then started the Jets QB statistics thread for the sole purpose of arguing Obrien with nyjunc, now you are baiting him again with Obrien. That's trolling.

haha, all positives do not leas to SB championships. we have had a million great moments through the years, a SB would be the ultimate and I may never see one but it won't change all the great memories I have had. I feel bad for you.

there were positive parts to that era, the most positive was when our backup led us to the only playoff win of the era but Ken had some good moments-

    the '85 season
    '86 vs. Mia, at Seattle
    '88 against Mia, vs. NYG
    '91 against Mia, at Mia
    '92 vs. Mia

I don't really mind champ. At least he's not arrogant like some and he's a character. Adds some fun to this board. I hope I never turn into him when I'm 97 years old like him though

"Bust" threads like this don't exactly engender the warm-and-fuzzy. Anyway, the uniforms of the Ken era sucked, esp. when they went "me too" by incorporating the black in the trim.

Black trim is good, black trim on Jet unis isn't.

    1st round busts:
    Vernon Gholston
Bill Yearby (T, Mich.) - washed out in a year.
Mike Taylor (LB, Mich.) - washed out within 2 years.

Jonathan Vilma. Every tackle was at least 5 yards downfield. At least according to some sharp guy who used to compile those records.

People have different answers here in part because some are not that familiar with earlier periods, but there's also different criteria at work. Take Sanchez - now on paper as a pick he was a poor choice because he clearly was not worth the fifth pick in the draft. Far from it, maybe he should have gone in the third or fourth round, but he did play with some success. But in defense of those who have mentioned Sanchez here, the way the team handled him and let the Qb position slide, and then had no other candidate to replace him until the even worse Smith, really hurt the franchise more than a pick such as Gholston. But that's not so much about the pick itself as the way the team handled his position over a period of years. So no, Sanchez is not a fair answer here.

But then how to focus on the pick itself? Certainly one of the candidates for this question is Ron Faurot, a first round pick for an OL that really needed help but he did really nothing for the team. But that was really beacuse he got hurt and never came back, so was it THE PICK or his getting hurt that was the problem?

Mike Haight is another OL pick from back then who never came close to playing up to his draft status, but he did play.

I get the argument about Robertson, especially when you focus on what it took to draft him, but he did play.

Other mentions - Blair Thomas was perhaps the most depressing high draft pick story I can think of, but before he crashed and burned after that fumble on Monday night, he did contribute.

And Kyle Brady, yeah, he was a huge disappointment. But I can't say the worst, even if top five.

Kyle Wilson was also an awful pick, but he did play.

And there have been some truly awful second round picks like Browning Nagle, Mike Nugent, and more recently Stephen Hill, but first round picks tend to win this sort of "contest".

So in the end my pick has to be Gholston, who was drafted very high, did essentially nothing for the Jets, but again overall I don't think he hurt the franchise as much as Sanchez did. Still, Gholston it is.

Junc someday I hope U will mature enough to understand if you do not win you are a loser. There are zero moral victories in sports so stop deluding yourself that there are. If you could poll the Denver fans who complied a dazzling regular season last season yet to lose in the POs & see if they very wonderful & terrific about last season. You can project that to the NYYs fans who have been on the skids the last few years. You being one of them I am sure U are not very happy with them. The person who is the ONLY one who can stop the losing is Woody & I bet U never/ever sent him a tweet about the losing ways of the NYJs. What shocks me is most every one is so ho hum about the losing & do not even realize they have a very large tool at there hands that they do not utilize that is called social media. I give all the kudos to the airplane flyer & billboard people for stepping up to the plate & at the least trying to change things instead just being sheep led to slaughter
