I wonder who the Isles will have as their new HC for next season? SHould be good as they are a very young team with more potential than any other team in the NHL right now. They are built the same way the Chicago Blackhawks are and they have 2 Cup wins recently, and are contenders almost every year in the playoffs, and all the Islanders need is to have their defense built up a little bit more, and maybe a better goaltender. Halak is good, but I would like to have someone better, they also need a HC who is willing to try and to develop younger players like the ones that the Islanders have now. Jack Capuano is not the guy to have do that, he needs to go.
Well at least the future is bright, they will have a new HC next season, and he will help develop and tap into this plethora of young talent that this NY Islanders team has right now. Now hopefully the Caps can demolish the Rag$ in round 2. Going out on a limb here and am being 100% serious, the Islanders will hoist the cup in the 2016-17 season. They go to the Eastern Conference Final next season and lose though.
It's ok to have a young team, but they also need players who are willing to get dirty and not let themselves get pushed around. Brock Nelson plays like he is still in high school. It's a mans game and they need to act like they belong, not like it's a school trip to a hockey game. Today's game shows they have it in them, they just need to bring that every game, from here on out.
What a game today. Played great with a depleted D. Now let's go win game 7. I want to see more hockey at the barn and a Battle of New York. One more thing Fuck You Ovi and the rest of the Craps.
Fuck Yeah..... why dwell on the negatives fellas?!?! in the words of 'Cube "Today was a good day" LETS GO ISLANDERS!
Good win for the good guys,,,,the place was rockin at times but At other times it was tense,,,guys told me that games 3 and 4 were much louder,,,,,,,,ovechkin is great but he is a punk and a dirty player,,I would not mind someone giving him a dose of his own medicine,,,game was very chippy at times,,,now its one and done for someone and I hope the Caps go home ,,,I never thought I could dislike a team as much as I dislike the Penguins but Wilson , Ovi and the rest of the Caps have made it easy sorry Dark Nite but that's how I feel
Pitt is the only team I root against, as far as the caps, they are playing playoff hockey, everyone plays a little harder, physical and they try to get away with a little more. That's what the islanders need to understand, this is a level of hockey that has to be played, hard, gritty, in your face. They don't have the skilled player that can play both gritty in your face hockey and can put it in the net. I don't blame the caps for how they responded, if I were the HC for the caps I would be mad if they did not respond like they did. The one thing I take away from this game is that the isles need another tough offensive playmaker to play alongside Tavares.
For me its the Rag$. I hate everything about that team. I would never root for them. EVER. I was rooting for Pitt in their series over those fuckbags. Screw the Rag$. I will never root for them until the day I die.
Menace,,,,hard is one thing,,,,holding and grinding yeah,,,,,,,,Ovis hit on Tavares from behind by the boards gave me a dale hunter flashback,,,,,also at the buzzer when Okposso was involved with another player and he mugged him from behind,,,,,,,I will take winning on the scoreboard any day but there is a lot to be said for burying a guy if the opportunity arises or score permits,,,,, let's win game 7
While I'm not the type of fan that blames the refs, your right, they have allowed the caps more freedom to do as they wish against the isles. Like Donovan getting a misconduct, he was being pushed around by three capitals and the ref did not stop the instigation.
Why the fuck do you care? you live in Nebraska. Its not like you live within walking distance to the Nassau Coliseum and are now pissed off that you have to travel to Brooklyn to watch them play.
GAME 7 IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John Tavares and the Isles, Alex Ovechin and the Caps. TONIGHT. VERIZON CENTER. 7:30. Here are some reasons the Isles have the edge: 1. They have scored first 5 of 6 games. 1st goal is huge in Game 7. 2. Momentum from Game 6 win. 3. Ovechkin's Caps are (2-5) in Game 7's with only 1 Game 7 win at home. What gives Caps fans hope: 1. Games 2 and 5 at Verizon Center were the best the Caps have played the entire series. Truly is a 50/50 toss up to me right now. Neither team winning would surprise me. May the best team win, guys!
the scoreboard hangs over the goddamn blue line. Its a horrible arena for hockey. Go back to the Rag$ thread.
That could happen, but I see 1 team dominating. Either the Isles score first and the Caps freak out and lose, or the Caps score first and continue to roll. The scores at Verizon Center have been 4-1 Isles, 4-3 Caps and 5-1 Caps.
This Isles team is beat up pretty good and they have numerous flaws. i would at least expect the Caps to take advantage of those flaws. But then again game 7's are the worst for Washington as they are 3-10 in them IIRC.
Despite the flaws in both teams, I expect tonight's winner to give the President's Trophy Winner Rangers a run for their money in Round 2.
