If someone really wants Williams, White, Beasley or Cooper they might want to swap with Jets to go grab them. I'd love Gurley, I don't know if I'd love him at 6
What the hell are you talking about? Do you even know anything about this draft? There are some really good players at the top that any number of teams would love to have
see I don't really understand this line of thinking. I mean if you truly love Gurley does it really matter where you take him? The argument about missing out on who will be there at #6 is valid, like saying you don't want to take Gurley because you want Cooper or Beasley instead. I get that. But by saying you would be willing to trade down for Gurley you are missing out on those guys anyway. who cares about the experts' "value" associated with a pick at the end of the day. I mean I hope they don't take Gurley at the 6 because I like other players more not because I give a shit about the perception of his potential pick
Why would anybody trade to six? There are plenty of edge rushers, plenty of WRs, plenty of OTs, I guess you will just have to wait and see how stupid that idea is when it doesn't happen.
Think about it this way: the Seahawks went into the 2012 draft in love with Russell Wilson, but they didn't take him round 1 because they knew they could get other players and still get their man. They turned their first and second rounders into Bruce Irvin and bobby Wagner and got Wilson in the third. The Jets getting Gurley and a second round pick is better than just getting Gurley.
I wouldn't take him at #6 because of the injury. Look what happened to Marcus Lattimore. A great college running back. He just retired and never played a game in the NFL. I'd take Cooper.
I don't want them taking him either especially coming off a knee, all I am saming is that it's nice to sit here and play pretend GM but the reality is it's just not that easy to trade down from six if the QBs are gone. There are lots of good players at all the other positions and no decent GM is going to mortgage the house for anybody that will most likely be sitting there at 6.
not really. the best player in terms of ability may be a RB or an ILB but those positions are not viewed to be as "valuable" as certain premium spots like QB or a pass rusher and so if you had, say, the #10 pick overall then you would be seen as getting better value taking the second or third best pass rusher than you would taking the very best RB or ILB, even though just in terms of ability the RB or ILB may be the better player because you would be confident of getting a very good RB or ILB in round 2, you wont get a premium pass rusher in round 2 (or so the logic goes).
Two big assumptions are being made here though.. 1) that there will be a trade available TO trade down And 2) that wherever you trade down to that Gurley will actually be there. I could foresee a scenario on draft day where the Jets are looking at the above and don't want to/can't take that risk and just draft Gurley anyway... The experts will kill them, you will kill them, everyone here will kill them, etc. but it ain't gonna matter if Gurley turns out to be a great player. The question is how good is Gurley not what his "value" is
Fair enough That's a little different though.. Wilson was a 3rd round player not a 1st round player.. We're not talking about a few spots there like we are with Gurley. Bruce Irvin is actually a good example. They straight up liked him. According to the experts they got horrible value there.. He was a "reach" at his spot.. Late first "value" at best they said.. So much for that Another example is Dwight Freeney. The colts were killed for taking him at 11. Terrible "value" they said... They could've traded down and got him a few spots later they said.. They said fuck it.. They liked him more than anyone at the spot and took him. Fucker might end up in the hall of fame. Does a few spots in the draft matter now? No
Let's just hope the Jets don't love Gurley that much. The gap between Gurley and the next great RB is not as great IMO as the gap between some of the other players that may be available at 6 and the next best player at their respective positions. If Gurley turned into a great player, I would still kill them if the team continues to struggle. Like I wrote earlier we were 3rd in rushing and 6th the year before. Running the ball has not been a problem.
There are four players I would take before Gurley, so I would be OK with take him at 6. Beasley and White are not one of those four. Im not sure I would take Beasely in the mid first, let a lone at 6.

I didn't think he would go quite as high as #6 but Gurley is my favorite player in this draft. With him Marshall and Decker at the skill positions our offense will finally put up some points.
Can you explain our provide video reasons as to why he is your favorite player in this draft? I just don't see him as being that guy at his position in comparison to other players at their positions
