Hahahaaaa funny stuff right there. For years you've repeated over and over and over again he was never injured.

Now you know the exact date he was "hurt"?

    Ooohh somebody woke up salty.

Mr. Deflection living in a delusional world lecturing folks on "reality".

He tore his bicep muscle at some point before the Denver game.

8 YPA BEFORE the Denver game and 4 YPA thereafter.

8-3 BEFORE the Denver game, 1-4 thereafter.

20 TDs-13 INTs, 71 % completion rate and a 94 QB rating BEFORE the Denver game and 4 TDs-10 INTs, 56% completion rate and a 56 QB rating thereafter.

So what--he just realized before the Denver game he didn't really want to a Jet? He stopped preparing right before the Denver game?

Look, I get that you hated the guy but please, accept the reality of what occurred.

    We all saw it.

ruptured bioceps tendon- is that what Favre had? this sounds worse. how did the iron man no

    http://www.nytimes.com/1997/08/06/sports/biceps-injury-sidelines-elway.html
I have never once said he wasn't hurt, I have always said he was the iron man- he made his career based on his ability to play through pain so I don't offer the injury excuse for him when he played.

    Keep making stuff up.

    salty? I'm never salty

do you know how yards per attempt is calculated?

Games 1-11: 347 attempts, 2461 yds. 7.1 YPA. where are you getting 8 from?

    Games 12-16: 175 attempts, 1011 yds. 1011/175= 5.8 YPA(I didn't round up earlier). where are you getting 4 from?

any more lies you want to post?

You can do yourself a favor and block me out. I didn't know you were the self appointed censor on the board. GFY.

He started showing signed of injury in October, there's no documented date but he was favoring his arm as early as the Cincy game. that was given as an excuse for his poor play in October, it as forgotten when he played well in November but brought up again when he was awful in December.

The Jets lost down the stretch in 2008. The team lost not Favre. He played worse down the stretch. And might have had a tear in his shoulder. But the team and Brett at the time decided he would play. Tannenbaum said they had done an image test on him and it wasn't a serious injury. And he needed little treatment. A lot of players in December play through injuries. And with a tear there are different degrees of severity. It affected him but was it the true cause for his bad play. This only came out via Brett after the season.

    Wait, did you say "injury"?

So you don't actually remember when his play fell off dramatically. Starting with the Denver game. When all of us fans SAW that he could no longer throw. It was obvious. When we started to call for Clemmens? What the numbers were actually saying then and what they say now. It was obvious.

    If you were watching.

Except if you were a fan back then and actually saw his inability to throw.

he could throw, maybe not as well as usual but he could throw. his problem was poor decision making more than anything else. his arm wasn't 100% most of the season but he was able to overcome it for that brief 3-4 game stretch. unfortunately that was fool's gold and he reverted back to his play earlier in the season(minus the garbage time SD game and the Ari game).

please tell me about YPA again?

it's never on one player but he was the main culprit. he was just awful late in the year and we would have been 0-5 to end the season had our D not scored in the final mins of the Buf game.

You do it for Mark, might as well do it for Favre.

or if he actually plays decent football to end the season w/ the creampuff sched we had where we played 1 playoff bound team the last 5 weeks and they wouldn't have been playoff bound had we beaten them.

Look Stokes your opinion is very valid. I don't disagree with it. Just label it for what it is. A smart educated opinion. What came out at the time said nothing about Favre's injury being the reason for his problems. Many fans thought it was as much old age catching up with him.
