the team knew what was happening, the team stunk, the team was not going anywhere and lost to a MUCH more talented team.
So the team saw that the coach was getting fired and they packed it in, instead of playing their hardest to try to save his job? While he was coaching his ass off and using every method he knew to motivate them and get them ready each week? Is that what you are saying? Are you saying we have a team full of quitters and Rex did his hardest to coach them week after week, after he has already said he took a back seat?
they obviously didn't quit as they won a couple more games but the sense of urgency for Buffalo was much greater.
Before the season nobody thought the Jets were a 4-12 team. The media, the fans, us. He played via his media pals one issue (no elite cornerback) into excuses for losing. He took average talent and with poor coaching brought it to a 4-12 and deserved to be fired. btw most intelligent organizations don't grossly overpay at the CB position. BB just got rid of two starting CBs rather than overpay them. And signed medium rung guys to replace them. He will compensate for a decrease in talent by scheme and intelligent play calling. Rex's teams were so predictable on defense that opponents burned them on 3rd down plays all season long: and it wasn't just because of lack of talent.
Im not trying to get personal, but are you autistic? I have a half brother that is autistic and he will come to a lot of conclusions early about things and when I provide legit counters to his idea he will find every single shred of evidence that supports his argument whether it is convincing or not without even considering the opposite argument as a possibility. Its very frustrating but I know who I am dealing with and I also know I have to exhaust every possibility to eventually convince him off anything. The problem with you is that there is no possible way of convincing you that the opposite argument is right because you will never ever credit the opposite argument as having a point.
no one thought 4-12 but after about 5-6 weeks it became very possible if not worse. we had no corners and both QBs were atrocious. Rex had a bad year after probably doing his best job in 2013. BB has TOM BRADY, check out what his record is w/o Brady. Rex has never had a Tom Brady.
when you bring up a legit point I will acknowledge it. the problem is w/ me you better bring rock solid info, you can get away w/ stuff w/ most posters but not w/ me.
there are no acceptable excuses for that loss in Detroit. It's not like the Jets were playing the 75 Steelers. That is what is known as "rock solid info" for those of you playing along at home.
they got steamrolled by a much more talented team. are there excuses? no, they just gout outplayed. is it Rex's fault? partly. does this means Rex sucks? Nope.
The problem is that I have never seen you acknowledge someone that brings up a legit point. Maybe you can prove me wrong?
There really isn't. The Jets should have walked away with a win but apparently they all (including their back seat head coach) thought they would and they didn't prepare for the game at all like they thought they were playing against a high school team Best part is his choice of words (back seat) since there is a video of his wife getting foothumped in the back seat of a car while he filmed it
it happens, not too often. sometimes it gets lost in the arguments going off track but it does happen. I completely understand others having a different viewpoint, I may not always say that but I get it. I present my side, I believe I do a better job presenting my side but it doesn't mean that I do. we tend to forget this board and boards like it are supposed to be fun. some folks take things too personal.
Buffalo was 5-5 and in the thick of the WC hunt, the Jets were 2-8 and out of the race. Buffalo was rightly the favorite in that game. it was not surprising to see Buffalo win, to see them win as easily as they did maybe but not to see them win even w/ the weather stuff which can just as easily bring a team together as it can distract them.
Other teams win without a Brady. And Brady is great also because of Belichick. The lack of corners issue to me is no excuse for Rex although with the help of his media pals he made it into that. Many teams were playing with backup Dbs later in the season due to injuries which is what the Jets had in their secondary.
the resume shows how BB was a failure of a HC w/o Brady. you don't need Brady to win(Rex beat Brady and NE w/ Sanchez) but he makes up for any shortcomings a team may have and always gives his team a chance.
If a head coach runs his mouth in upstate New York, and the media isn't around to hear it, did it make a sound?
Actually if Rex was in Alaska talking about how his Anchorage Slushmonsters were going to kick the shit out of the Nome Igloostompers, Rex would get a national publication to cover it, because it would be easy copy and that is all that the sports media knows how to do anymore
