None of those guys were responsible for Mark turning the ball over. Again he was the worst Jets player on offense. His terrible play had more negative effect than of any the other crappy players on the team. As for Schillens he was a 20-30 reception player. Not a starter although he started games for the Raiders but a 4th or 5th guy who could block, too. Nobody said he was an All Star but he had nothing to do with Mark stinking up the joint in 2011 and 2012. You're right about LT. My mistake because he wasn't even on the team in 2012.
ultimately Mark is responsible for his TOs but he had literally no help in 2012. no QB would have won w/ our healthy talent in 2012. Schilens was STARTING for us, a guy that was expected to be cut in training camp who barely made the team eventually had to start for us. as a 5th WR he's serviceable, as a starter he is not. you do know that despite still not being 30 years old he has been out of football since that 2012 season(he was in a camp in 2013 and got cut).
The discussion has changed from (i) he was never injured to (ii) well he WAS injured but he played the same before he was injured as he did after he was injured to (iii) we were 8-3 in spite of Favre to (iv) whatever Favre sucked and he always sucked to (v) Favre doesn't get to play the injury card (even though he doesn't post here and these are opinions being expressed by Jet fans who were there and are making observations and not giving him excuses). _
nowhere did I say he wasn't playing hurt but the man made his career playing hurt. he doesn't get that excuse, he was "playing hurt" since October, his best stretch was in November. his failures in Dec had little to do w/ his injury. it was just an excuse from him and from Jet fans that foolishly believe he helped our franchise(actually he did, his tank job led to Rex and Sanchez coming here and giving us legit championship contenders).
Sorry, I much rather have a paranoid coach like Billicheat that wins championships than some Buffon that " talks" championships. Anytime
if that buffoon had Tom Brady he's winning championships, the buffoon was a much better coach w/o Brady than BB was w/o Brady.
Schillens was an NFL caliber Wr and had been ok with the Raiders. He isn't a bum plus he could block. We was a 4th or 5th receiver and had nothing to do with Mark throwing balls to opposing players. Some of those Dbs made comments too about how easy it was to confuse Mark. The worst of course were his infamous red zone turnovers. If the guy isn't open Mark you throw it over his head and take the 3. But Mark thought he was Unitas and it killed us.
We are not Brett Favre. We are not playing the excuse card on his behalf. We are just pointing out reality. You've said repeatedly he wasn't injured. Clearly he had a torn bicep tendon. Was he injured or was he not injured? _
how the hell did a thread about Amaro's comments (last week) turn into a discussion about the state of Brett Favre's bicep (in 2008)?
OK so there's different grades of injuries and tears. According to Tannenbaum (who a lot people consider to be a liar) they took imaging tests on Brett and his injury was not severe and did not need all that much treatment. We didn't hear a lot on this until Favre talked about it after the season. It was never a big ticket issue. The overall thought at the time was that Favre was banged up but he was capable of playing and making throws. And the injury was not the key reason the Jets lost games down the stretch. We don't really know.
Look you're just making assumptions. And have nothing to back it up except your opinion. Why don't you just say IMO Favre's injury was serious and was the reason he played poorly down the stretch. But according to you it's fact when it's not.
This whole thing is becoming annoying,Tired of hearing about it already and Colon has to come around and make it worse and stir the pot some more.It doesn't matter what happend last season anymore
