Neither could the prosecution in the OJ case. Even with the mountain of evidence put forth before you. you are just choosing not to believe, not to rememeber. A Favre hater. Sanchez? _
Not a bigger Sanchez fan on this board than me. So did we win in spite of Sanchez? Did we carry him? Or vice versa? _
Carried him. He should have been benched in 2012 and Rex should have been fired for not benching him.
Fire a coach for not benching one of the best playoff win % QB in his young career? If anything, ignoring the offense and acquiring JAGs to fill the void was why he needed to be fired.
If I hear more of this "best playoff win % QB" crap, I'm going to puke. If Philadelphia is smart they'll keep Sanchez on the bench all season then roll him out if they get in the playoffs.
Pennington in 2004, for one. How did this argument get in the Ryan-Amaro thread anyway? What IS the argument even, that Favre shouldn't have played, or that he wasn't hurt? I have certain posters on ignore so I'm guessing one of them started it. Everyone and their grandmother's admitted Favre was hurt so I don't see how that's even an argument. And an injured Favre almost certainly was better than anyone else they could have rolled out at that point.
Rex came in and WON, I don't care who put the team together. who cares if others rooted against us? that is a good thing, it means people actually cared about us.
the sched in 2008 was MUCH easier than 2009 and Rex didn't have the luxury of no Brady all season. the 2009 team would have killed the 2008 team if they matched up.
we know how "great" Favre was in 2008, he was so great he sucked. got the luxury of a weak sched and was still outplayed by some of the worst QBs in the league. spare me the injury excuse for the iron man.
won a ton of games we had no business winning? like which ones? Tennessee was undefeated but not a great team- they were one and done in January. what other games did we not have any business winning? Miami coming off 1-15 w/ Chad Pennington having the same amount of time to get ready for that game? home vs. Arizona who was outscored 151-62 in 3 NE games that season? the Ryan Fitz 4 win Bengals? The Tyler Thigpen 2 win Chiefs? the 0 for the Century Bills? The 2 win Rams? The Cassell Pats? where are all these games we had no business winning? I can list games we had no business losing thanks to Brett Oakland NE Den SF Sea Mia the bicep thing is nothing but an excuse. he was not good pre injury, he had some good moments but overall was mediocre.
did you watch the Jets in 2008? I get the average fan gets excited w/ all the passing and some good fantasy #s but did you see him keep opponents in games when he was supposedly carrying us to that 8-3 record? did you see him throw away most of our losses? do you guys watch football? anyone that thinks Favre was great does not have the slightest clue what they are watching.
the whole conversation somehow got into whether favre was actually hurt or actually injured. not whether he was a great qb
the thing w/ this injury was he was showing signs as early as October yet played his best football in November so I don't buy the injury excuse. he's the iron man, can play through anything. he played and is judged on how he played.
back on topic (instead of the tired old Favre discussion): Per Alex Marvez of Fox Sports 1 & Sirius XM NFL a series of tweets: -In defense of Jace Amaro, G Willie Colon told Sirius XMNFL that player tardiness "was an issue" w/2014 -Colon: “I believe in keeping things in house, but for the most part it was an issue.” -Colon: “It’s one of those things where as a pro ball player it’s not hard to be there on time." -Colon: “It’s the little things like that, the little things you just don’t talk about. You be on time; you be accountable for your actions.” -Colon also said new HC Todd Bowles stressed accountability in opening message to team when offseason program began. I will add that hopefully this new genius concept of accountability stretches to penalties on the field and thus Colon finds himself on the bench, but that's just my $.02.
