I highly doubt Gregory falls out of the first. Crazier things have happened but with him, I can't see it.
We can not take a RB any RB in the first round. We can not take a player coming off an ACL injury any player coming off an ACL injury in the first round. We absolutely can NOT take Todd Gurley anywhere NEAR the first round. _
The more I watch Gregory, the more I'm convinced he would be the best olb for Bowles system and what he will want to do on defense. I only have Cooper ahead of Gregory on my board and I don't think Cooper will be there.
Okay, np. I actually am. I just don't think he's a #6 pick, Beasely either. But if they're convinced he's that elite pass rusher I think you're right, it may very well happen
I think we walk out with either Beasley or Cooper. I anticipate Mariota and Fowler will be gone. If we trade down I could see us landing Scherff or Gregory if he falls to the early to mid first.
Gurley at the #12, Flowers at $19, Phillip Dorsett 2nd round, Nate Orchard/Kikaha in the 3rd=punching people in the face come opening day. won't happen, but i can dream
If Mariota is gone by #6, I hope the Jets go offense in the first and second rounds to help Geno or Fitzpatrick. Cooper/White in the first with AJ Cann in second Or Schreff and Dorsett If we aren't able to get Mariota (or trade him) we need to give whoever is qb as many weapons as possible. I'd feel ok with Geno Smith behind an upgraded line an Marshall, Decker and one other the receivers mentioned above.
I was right with Pryor last year so hopefully lightning strikes twice. If Cooper is there at 6 we should take about 2 seconds to announce his name.
I'm really surprised so many people think we are taking Cooper! I really like the player and think he will end up being a star, but after trading for Brandon Marshall I doubt we go WR so high in the draft. Could happen, but more likely would be we end up with Kevin White after Oakland takes Cooper. But I think it will almost certainly be either a pass rusher or Mariota. (just my opinion, nobody knows of course)
As with anything it depends on who is available. I think a lot of people picking Cooper (myself included) picture the top 5 including Winston, Mariota, Williams, Fowler and either White or one of the other pass rushers (Beasley or Gregory). So if that's what you think is happening it limits your options. I picked Cooper and Beasley because I think either one of them will go before us along with the other four mentioned and the other will be the BPA. I'm not 100% sold on Beasley at 6th but I don't really like Ray or Gregory at 6th either so it is what it is.
There are some rumors that the Glazer family might decide to pass on Winston because of the lawsuits by the young woman and that this is an issue in Florida. And it kind of makes sense that it's better for Jameis to leave the state of Fla. Who knows he might have stayed at FSU another year if there was no controversy. So if the Bucs either trade the pick or select someone else like Leonard Williams (who they might see as another Sapp) there are rumors the Jets could trade up for Winston. It could be pretty wild if Tenn. makes the deal with the Chargers for Mariota and then the Jets trade up with either the Jags or Oakland and take Winston. I just wonder if Wilk would be a part of this deal. I hope it doesn't happen because I don't like the guy and think he got away with rape.
i think you can get gurley in round 2-3 if you really want him. taking him at 12 would be an enormous reach
Fowler (if he slips a bit) or Beasley. Only guy that is a realistic possibility I wouldn't cheer is Ray.
i dont see it. you have to go back 3 years the last time a RB was taken in round one. thats not by accident. id be shocked if he went earlier then 28 and would be really suprised if he went in the first round. and if we took him it would be the most disappointing pick we've made for me in about 10 years.
