I believe this Jets team can make a strong playoff run with a good QB (which we don't have)...

    ...so Jets trade #6 pick along w/ 2016 #1 & maybe 2015 4th
up to receive Titans #2 pick

....then Jets turn around and trade #2 pick to SD for Rivers
    2015 4th rd & 2016 #1 pick
    ????????????????????????????????

Rivers isn't worth that much, especially with only one year left on his contract and an apparent desire to get out of the Chargers organization. A bit similar to the Andre Johnson situation in Houston. There, the Texans were unable to find a trade partner so they straight up released him. I see Rivers being worth a conditional mid/late round pick, depending upon how unhappy he is in SD/LA.

The first trade for the #2 pick sounds about right but if we trade up we should just take Mariota, why trade again?

I personally love Rivers and I really wanted him after his poor season a few years back, but this is very unlikely.

Why not trade up to #1 to get Winston?

I'd love Rivers but that's a pretty steep price for a guy that everyone knows wants to bolt SD.

Hell if its possible I'm not against it, he's a better prospect but I just have a feeling Tampa is locked in and will demand too much considering they have nothing at QB

haha..bolt SD? He will retire before he leaves san diego and that is pretty much what he has said. he won't uproot his family. and if you have ever been in san diego it is easy to see why.

that is why I think my plan would be a win-win, we get a veteran QB with hopefully 5 good years left,
while not mortgaging our future by giving up a ton of picks, by getting back picks from SD, we can offset
the ones given to Tenn, of course this would all be contingent on Rivers signing a reasonable extension...
