Yeah Rex is so bad because he taking up for himself. Rex had many of opportunities to bash the Jets and didn't until that sorry TE we have bashed him.
sorry TE? Damn I can't wait for your response once we toss Geno Smith out the front door at Florham Park.
I'd predict the same arc for Rex in Buffalo that you guys saw. Initially he'll be successful, and will bring some attitude and swagger. The Bills will be a playoff team and will be competitive. But long-term, he still has no QB, and his schtick isn't really sustainable. When it's new it's fresh, but after a few years (based on what I saw here anyway), it starts getting old if the results aren't there. I like him as a coach, and think he's good for the NFL. I just think that unless he can win at that next level, he'll burn out there within 5 years.
I thought the 8-8 season (2013) was his best coaching job, given his roster at the time. That could have been a two or three-win team with a bad coach.
I agree, that was by far his best coaching job. very little talent on O w/ a bad rookie QB who wasn't ready to play and he squeezed 8 wins out of them. amazing job, last year he did a poor job. I thought that was his only bad season('11 can be argued but that was a flawed team). beyond all the bluster he can coach, Buf has talent and he'll win early- can they keep that talent or can he find a long term QB will determine if he can sustain success.
The Rex lovers are so sad to see. I feel bad for them. Holding on to a false hope. Even talking about that (8-8) team is a joke to me. They beat the Patriots in OT and the Saints at home. Those were two nice wins. At the time, it felt like beating the Falcons was good too. So 3 solid wins in an (8-8) season is not exactly something to dance in the streets about, but to each his own. Rex's flaws are still his flaws in Buffalo because he will never change and he will never learn. The sooner people see that, the better. He got a great job in Buffalo though. It will take a lot for him to lose that job.
Yes he sucks as a TE. Sorry he showed me nothing. Hey if they toss Geno won't bother me. I'm a Jets fan first.
Summary of article: sour grapes, nothing's my fault, everything he said he was going to do while a Jets coach he says he's now going to do with the Bill. I'm not a huge Rex fan or hater but this article is of no real consequence.
Thank God our present head coach doesn't talk shit like this. And again he's trying to point the finger elsewhere to take all of the blame. Fuck that!
Yea because that explains why Idzik saved 50 million for the new gm to spend and stack the roster.Rex had no chance and was purposely set up to fail....I'm just glad Idzik didn't get away with it...Could you imagine of Idzik didn't get fired?
He may find more success working under new and (professionally) experienced ownership as opposed to some ass clown. Woody lover flame away.
Yea he even talked shit about them letting a rookie take McCrarys number like it was any of his business, in the end he got his ass handed to him twice by the team that knew he wasn't the right guy to coach them
And he's not going to win at the next level unless he either gets a star QB or stops with this 'I yam what I yam' and tries to refine his personality a little (mostly by not being TOO buddy-buddy with the players).
1 was just Rex being Rex and responding to being called out...he didn't fire the first salvo in this case. 2 was the right message from the total wrong messenger. If Nick Mangold wants to say this I'd applaud. But let's not hear some snot-nosed kid in the league one year who couldn't catch the ball and laughed at a suggestion he should study Mike Ditka be the one to get all high and mighty about things.
Amaro actually spoke up Coach Bowles and meant it more as a compliment for the new coach rather than just slamming the old coach. Amaro had 1 year under Rex, he had no attachment so there's no bias with what he said unlike what a long time Rex player might have had. But of course his compliment about Bowles is swept under the rug and Rex Ryan felt insulted since someone didn't give him a glowing review.
Amaro is allowed to say what he wants after seeing Geno Smith and Calvin Pryor get slapped on the hand(Pryor losing his starting job, Geno unaffected) at most by Rex and his staff when Amaro says there was no accountability. It wasn't like Amaro made up anything. Veterans last season criticized the preparation and due dilligence about how the team trained leading up to games, you don't think Amaro didn't take notice? Guys like Demario Davis, a Rex favorite said this and someone who is one of the leaders on this team, a guy Amaro probably was told to follow and observe how he commands the locker room....was one of those said players.
No its not something to dance about when your a great team,Did you see that peice of shit roster we had?8 wins was a miracle with that group.Even last season with our garbage team Idzik put together we were in a lot of games against top teams.Let's not forget we got robbed by Green Bay
