I'm aware who they are (recall Rohrssen from Jasperville). Just hoping as well that they can pull this off - Diallo coming off a nice Sorry. Husker cheerleaders - cuties.
I think SJU is going to get Diallo. And UNLV has gotten recruits over Kentucky before, Anthony Bennett picked UNLV over Kentucky and based on the speculation I'm hearing Stephen Zimmerman is going to as well.
We get Diallo, I swear it is officially the beginning of a new class of SJU basketball. No doubt about it
Rohrssen actually also worked at UNLV, I believe he was there after that fat toad Rollie Massimino was fired and they hired Grgrich. He was actually the dobo under Bayno.
From the Kentucky Wildcats website: "Prior to his first spell at Pitt, Rohrssen served as the director of basketball operations at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas from 1995-99 under head coach Bill Bayno. While at UNLV, the program experienced a resurgence as the Runnin' Rebels captured the 1998 Western Athletic Conference Tournament championship and advanced to postseason play in three of his four years. Rohrssen's duties included serving as a liaison to the athletic administration and other school officials, coordination of student-athletes' game, practice and daily schedules, as well as serving as UNLV's director of summer basketball camps." Securing Brandon Simpson (and Marcus LoVett) would help as well.
Stephen Zimmerman has made it official, that he will be at UNLV next year. Derrick Jones a high flying forward from Philadelphia also made it official today. Awesome job by Dave Rice UNLV can raise another recruiting Mountain West Championship banner.... oh wait those don't matter only wins....sigh.
chris carlson@ccarlsononSU 1h1 hour ago Manhattan, NY Emmert on Syracuse case: Different from UNC because it was case of athletic dept officials contributing to cheating. "In NCAA's wheelhouse."
chris carlson @ccarlsononSU 5m5 minutes ago @LostEmail he was discussing initial decision not to get involved. Don't know enough on UNC to know if that matters. chris carlson @ccarlsononSU Emmert didn't necessarily say NCAA wasn't interested in UNC. Was discussing initial disinterest. Said couldn't discuss specifics with UNC chris carlson@ccarlsononSU Emmert on UNC: I won't talk on UNC but universities and faculty are de facto keepers of academic integrity chris carlson@ccarlsononSU Not worse. Different. _
what SU did was a million times worse, Carolina's issues were academic not athletic. what happened at Carolina was awful for the University but not the men's basketball program. Nothing should happen to the men's basketball program.
http://www.syracuse.com/orangesport...resident_mark_emmert_syracuse_basketball.html chris carlson@ccarlsononSU Emmert: While everyone looked at Syracuse as wow, they hammered syracuse. Under the new rules would have been far worse.
You keep living in that dream world. What UNC did to keep it's BB players eligible was criminal--far far worse than what SU did. We kept Fab eligible. And the Oneida Y gave kids pocket cash. Some kids smoked weed. _
they didn't do anything to keep their players eligible other than make sure they attended classes and kept their grades up. you have no clue what went on at Carolina.
Too funny. You're the only person in the world, other than real UNC alums that believes that. What UNC did to those students--the basketball players and football players specifically, was criminal. The rest of the world knows that. The Waintstein Whitewash is going to eventually get eviscerated. Yeah, I read it, and I read other reports and I know exactly what went on there. It was massive in it's scope and duration, the worst systematic cheating in the history of the NCAA. You keep your head in the sand until it blows up. Long story short, my witch hunt is finally over with no damage to the program going forward. Boeheim told the NCAA to go fuck themselves like he's been doing for years now and he'll leave when HE wants to. The succession plan is in place--three years max then on to Hopkins so the recruiting process never skips a beat. The loss of scholarships are end of bench players and will have no impact on our roster. Our new class is already full for next year and is top 7 in the country--our best class in 5 years. And with McCullough leaving and Patterson and Johnson transferring, that frees up 2 of the scholarships and our big recruit we thought would be an issue in 2017 is no longer and issue. Taking "wins" away is such a stupid penalty it doesn't even hit our radar and once we appeal and get some of those wins back (which I really don't care about) everything will be rosy. And it validated our National Championship for all time. Dude, ALL of Roy's "championships" are tainted and some of those banners are coming down. This is going to be fun to watch. _
you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. and it's funny how cheating SU folks want to deflect(maybe this is what they teach there as you are always good at deflecting?) this to UNC but the situations couldn't be more different. the cheating at SU was blatant, they were cheating while being investigated for cheating that occurred years earlier, while at Carolina the basketball program did nothing wrong. they did not steer players to these classes, they did not work to try to keep players eligible other than making sure they went to class and did their work. It is going to be fun to watch, can't wait to hear your whining when very little no nothing happens to UNC. what happened at UNC was an academic issue where more than half the students in those classes were non athletes. There was no evidence of Roy or anyone associated w/ UNC basketball steering players toward that and in the Wainstein report they noted players handed in their work and worked hard on their papers. they treated it like a real class which it was to them. that is nothing compared to this: http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/artic...rol-athletics-basketball-coach-failed-monitor anyone who thinks the cases are similar doesn't have the slightest clue what went on at Carolina.
Hahahaaaa you keep your head in the sand. That Wainstein Whitewash is the biggest load of crap and if you read it you'll see it actually implicates Roy directly notwithstanding his vehement denials. I can't believe any intelligent person would take it for anything than what it was--a defense of the school and a sham of an investigation. My witch hunt is OVER and yours hasn't even started. Those banners are coming down! It's going to be fun to watch the twisting and turning down on Tobacco Road. _
Yup, yes I did. I even sent Joe some excerpts from it--the truly LOLworthy ones. What a whitewash. I can't believe folks are naive enough to believe any of it--it's sounds childish, really. _
you obviously didn't read it, please stop. we'll see what happens, you never know w/ the NCAA but even the false reports at UNC are nowhere near what was proven to be done by SU so worst case no banners come down and they lose a scholarship or 2. I don't believe they will even lose that but the NCAA is unpredictable.
I absolutely read the Wainstein Report. I'm not sure why you would think I didn't. Do you want me to post the passages I find particularly funny? And once the NCAA starts it's investigation, the cheating will be shown to be MUCH worse, much more systematic and widespread. And unlike Syracuse, it's going to implicate players on Roy's championship teams making them ineligible and THOSE banners are going to come down. _
it's clear based on your comments that you did not. you are trying to fans the flames to deflect from the cheating at SU. I understand.
