Ny post posted this article about Sports Illustrated interviewing Rex . Other then how he wants to beat us next year he talked about what happend a little bit the last years under Idzik.Saying he was just "another guy" and he wasn't the boss anymore the Rex haters in 5......4......3.....2......1 http://nypost.com/2015/04/14/rex-ryan-talking-trash-i-want-to-kick-the-s-out-of-the-jets/
Wow, Rex has really lowered his goals. Not that long ago he wanted to beat the shit out of the Patriots. Now he's targeting the Jets. Give him a few more seasons and he'll be getting riled up about the Titans.
I was a fan of Rex but the guy clearly didn't feel he needed to change the way he handled himself and in the end it filtered itself into all facets of the Jets organization. The sloppy game play, consistent unpreparedness and terrible management of what we did have over the course of his tenure here. The fact is Rex ran a sloppy ship and it showed week in and week out. Hell, at this point I do actually believe that Idzick may have given Rex nothing to work with last year on purpose. However, it changes nothing in regards to how terribly he managed things on and off the field. Rex is stubborn, pouty and childish in addition to being full of hot air. I'd have wished him the best of luck if he went ahead and done his thing outside the afce or even just went up to Buffalo having learned his lesson and shut up; he didn't and I don't.
full article: http://mmqb.si.com/2015/04/14/rex-ryan-buffalo-bills-new-york-jets/ Buffalo is lucky, let Rex be Rex and they will win big. we neutered him. never should have taken power away from Tannenbaum and fired him, we had a good thing going and screwed it up. That's in the past now and hopefully the new regime can have success but it is frustrating knowing how close we were and how we screwed it up.
Not trying to get into arguments here, but how did the Jets screw it up? By not doing things exactly the way Rex wanted them done? Rex needed to grow and learn to become a complete head coach. He should have seen that our offense was the weak link and pushed for some changes to help his defense (which has always bend and don't break rather than shut down). Instead Rex just shut the offense out and did his thing with defense. That's not a head coach that's a defensive coordinator. Rex's only contribution to the offense is/was the ground and pound-cat, something that is 100% crystal clear as he's taking with him to Buffalo. All I have to say is 3rd and long blitz; this time, everytime. The only thing I'm afraid of happening is that he shuts is facking mouth and learns to play zone at the appropriate times. Meaning any time other than NE and when they are down by 20+.
Amaro should have kept his mouth shut..it was probably going to be bad enough before and now it may be worse.
they had a nice partnership w/ Tannenbaum and Rex. One down year(w/ a million key injuries) and they moved on. yes mistakes were made but Mike deserved the chance to come back and then we hired Idzik and Rex was basically dead man walking for 2 years.
Talk doesn't win or lose a game but I HATE when players bash coaches and former players after they are gone. it's a bad character trait.
i want the Jets to kick the shit out of the Jills. I can't wait until we play. It will be an interesting week
hmm thats your takeaway? Rex Ryan doesn't shut his fuckin mouth for years and years & takes his circus to a division rival.. Jace Amaro does an interview in which his primary goal is to talk up his new HC. He doesn't even mention Rex Ryan at all... Rex Ryan shoots back with "He's full of shit..." and "I want to kick the shit out the Jets" and yet your takeaway is about Amaro? That is an interesting take...
I don't know man. I think it's pretty telling that Rex says he went from being the boss to just another guy. I interpret that as Tanny was doing what Rex wanted him to do more or less. If in fact that was the case it puts an even greater portion of the blame in Rex's lap. Because now in addition to all of the other stuff we can credit him with breaking Sanchez, giving him a fruity assed extension, getting him injured and then helping in breaking Geno because he didn't just sit his ass down. Idzik was the GM, Rex was the coach and he should have played who was best for "his" team. I mean he felt he was on the way out anyway the only power held over him was that he would be fired and he thought that was going to happen anyway.
Amaro intentionally or unintentionally bashed the coaching staff. it's what players do when coaching changes are made b/c it takes accountability off them and places it on those no longer w/ the team. media and fans will eat it up despite having no idea if it is true or not.
Here is what he said that I don't understand: “I wasn’t the boss anymore, I was just a guy,” Ryan told MMQB, the magazine’s football website. “Whether they want to say it or not, all of a sudden I became less important to the team. What does this mean other than a cop out. If it's a dig at Idzik why not just come out and say the guy sucked. He also threw in his traditional "I've gotta be me" speech. As for kicking the shit out of us. That's ok. He said he wants to kick the shit out of the Jets not that he's going to do it. And why the love fest with Woody. Idzik didn't fire him, Woody did.
correction - - he "intentionally or unintentionally bashed the former coaching staff." But it coulda been way worse.. I mean he could've said "Rex Ryan was full of shit" but of course he didn't because he's not a loudmouth loser. Thats actually the real kind of stuff media and fans eat up.
