Yeah, I don't really see Geno doing anything like that out there. Have to admit, pretty jealous of the Vikings
Jets definitely missed out on Bridgewater IMO. It's a little early to proclaim him anything more than a promising young QB. With all the picks the Jets had, they easily could have traded back into the first and grabbed Teddy in addition to Pryor. Idzik fell victim to Geno's last 4 games. Thats why he isnt here anymore. I dont care about Garrapolo/Carr/Manziel/Bortles. I'm not confident any of them become anything more than mediocre QB's.
I have a feeling, if we don't find a QB soon, this is going to become another missed QB opportunity we will end up talking about for the next 15 years. I agree, but Pryor and Bridgewater will always be connected for Jet fans.
I think the discussion migrated (as is typical TGG) to who we took to who we should or could have taken. When assessing what type of player Pryor is or will be, some of us are still chapped that we passed on a better player at a more important position. People want to discuss what they want to. _
Lol touche. I may have started the Bridgewater conversation but I still think it deserves its own thread. Anyway, who do you think will have the larger improvement next year: Pryor or Amaro?
Bridg...I mean probably Pryor. He's going to get a ton of help from the rest of the rebuilt secondary, the line backing crew will be better, I think he'll be much better. _
Pryor seemed small to me last year. Idk what he measures out to be, maybe he's not small, but he sure looked small out there. Also, the angles he took particularly in pass coverage were very concerning to me. Maybe he was out of position, yes... Maybe he was playing with shitbags for CBs, okay he was.... but some of those mistakes were on natural football/pass coverage instincts and that is not something I feel encouraged about. We'll see though no need to put him in the compost pile like most of the rest of Idzik's 2014 draft class just yet.
The chaos in the secondary didn't help him. I also think that he came in cocky, and mighta had too much thrown at him too. After year one Kenrick Ellis said ' I didn't know that I didn't know'. In other words it was way harder than he really understood it would be. Still hopeful on Pryor, to not be a 'bad' or 'bust' pick at the very least.
