Report: Titans view Mettenberger as a poor man's Brady

    The Tennessee Titans view Zach Mettenberger as the steal of the 2014 NFL Draft and that he can become a poor man's Tom Brady.

    Mettenberger was uneven in his six starts as a rookie, completing 59.8 percent of his throws with eight touchdowns, seven interceptions and an 83.4 passer rating.

    The Titans own the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and may believe in Mettenberger enough to pass on a quarterback.

    This could mean Mariota could drop or a team could trade up...But Zach a poor man's Tom Brady??

    Well if this is true, there is zero reason for the Titans to take a QB.

    I thought the Titans had no interest in a QB. I did not know this is new news. Or did they change their minds and now say they are interested as a smoke screen to drive up that #2 pick's value? Who knows? That is what makes the NFL Draft fun. The actual couple days is nice, but the build up and lead in is fun. In my opinion, Winston goes to TB, and then some team will trade up to #2 and take Mariota. The Titans themselves will not. Plenty of QB needy teams and only 2 decent QB prospects. I don't know what it will take for the Jets to move from #6 to #2, but I bet more than I would find acceptable.

    emphasis the "poor man's" part big time and erase the name Tom Brady and I agree completely hahaha

    I still think mariota goes 2nd overall.

    To me this just means that the titans will trade the pick

    Winston was there today.. Pretty sure if he falls to them they will be running to hand in their draft slip..

    Yes, I mean with 3 or 4 years NFL salary, assuming he is smart with his money, he ought to be able to buy some Pizza Hut franchises down south and carve out a nice living for himself. Assuming he chooses the right woman he ought to have a bright future..

    Oh wait you were talking about his football future?? Hahaha

    I think the kid will be a good player, if you put him in the classic "pocket passer" offense. I was hoping for him from the 4th rd on.... but hey, we got a WR who was cut the 2nd game of the season
