You had a good draft you just need to figure out better players in round 4 and 7, you would have easily broke 8k with a couple of A grades

Thanks. I came close on a couple of occasions, but still didn't get there. Working on it. Without the 4th-rounder (A- for Jesse James) I may have finally broken the 8k on this one...

Round 7 Pick 7: Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland (A+)
Round 7 Pick 32 (ATL): Ellis McCarthy, DT, UCLA (A+)

    edit:
I finally broke the 8k! Yeah! After all it needed six A+...

    Perriman is fool's gold.

They put a first round rank on him but he scores lower than that.

Otherwise you would have gotten an A+ for taking him.

Next time don't take Perriman and you can get a better score.

Indeed! Sometimes players who can easily reel in an A+ simply don't fall to the beginning of the second round. I'm not quite sure how the rating-system works: Are there any players I can get an A+ on Round 2 Pick 5 to Pick 15 without having a day 1 rank?

The day ranking is a rule of thumb, I have taken day 3 players over day 2 players and still gotten an A+.

It is really hard to get an A+ on picks in that range even with a day 1 rank.

I think Marcus Peters has top 10 talent but if you take him with Rd 2 pick 8 (especially if another day 1 CB is available) you might even get an A-.

I find myself taking some bad trade downs to avoid picking in that range unless certain players like Landon Collins or MGIII are on the board and I know I can get an A+ for sure.

Selecting a day 2 player when a day 1 player is available should work but I always seem to select the wrong one.

The best way to get a bad grade is to take a player at a certain position when a better player from the same position is available.

Thanks for the hint in the your last sentence; I've never really thought of this...
Getting an A+ on day 3 over day 2 player seems possible; but I've never experienced it with day 2 over day 1. I've tried out several players now (B. Hundley, B. McKinney, DJ. Humphries) but best I've gotten was an A-.
So I think the two most important rules to have a really high score are to get a Mariota/Winston in round 1 (after trading down) and to have a surefire A+ fallen to your (early) second round pick.

    edit:
With that in mind I broke my personal high score by a few points. It would've have been better with Mariota at a later pick, but there were no fitting trade downs. Dorsett at 3-16 only being an A was a bit of a surprise; I've gotten an A+ for him at about 3-20.

Your score is: 8150 (GRADE: A)

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 6: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon (A+)
Round 2 Pick 5: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 3 Pick 16 (K.C.): Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (Fla.) (A)
Round 3 Pick 23 (PITT): Devin Funchess, WR/TE, Michigan (A+)
    Round 4 Pick 19 (K.C.): T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama (A+)
    Round 7 Pick 6: Justin Manton, K, Louisiana-Monroe (A+)
Round 7 Pick 7: Kyle Loomis, P, Portland State (A+)

Winston lasted until 20. I almost picked him at 17, but figured there weren't any QB needy teams coming up, so I traded down a few more spots, and he went. Oh well.

I wish this thing wasn't so unrealistic. The drafts you guys get, and this baby right here would be considered the best draft in years by any team in real life.

Your score is: 7100 (GRADE: A-)

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 22 (PITT): Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A)
Round 2 Pick 2 (T.B.): Eli Harold, OLB, Virginia (A-)

Although all ours are unrealistic with all the trades, I tried to draft people I would want at that position not just for points. You can get a ton of points with running backs but I really wouldn't draft a bunch of anything. Like this though

^ yea there's nothing realistic about the highest scoring drafts, one of my best ever drafts with this game was when I drafted 3 RBs and 2 strong safeties, depends whether you are playing for points or personal satisfaction

The site says you get better scores when you factor in team needs but I have yet to see evidence of that
