That was racy shit back then.

It all changed a few years later.

I think Dalton hovers in and around that range, if not, right below it. Compared to most 2nd round QBs he's been pretty good. Most 2nd round QBs are barely good enough to see the field or shouldn't be on the field (see Geno). I am talking about the guys in that range that had enough talent to be drafted early in the first round (see Cam, Stafford, Alex Smith on a good year, Bradford when healthy…etc.). If you knew Mariota would develop into nothing more than a more athletic Tannehill, another example, do you pick him over a stud WR because of the importance of the position?

You guys kill me with your weird Mariota comparisons. Now he's "a more athletic Tannehill". He looks like Kaepernick 2.0 to me.

I think he's a slower Michael Vick with a Doug Flutie brain and the arm of Joe Montana

The problem is, though, that you can't really replicate the pressure of a real game in the offseason. I'm not so sure if he can improve his decisions when he's not playing real games, so it's probably for the best that he used whatever program the best QB coach had to offer.

Last year he just seemed to focus on athletics, his strong suit- so hopefully this will be better. Hopefully the Jets will get good QB play from whoever.

Mariota is a more athletic Peyton Manning.

If (insert the name of your favorite deity) was a QB, he would be Mariota.

To me he's like a more subtle version of God. Kind of like Jesus but with a better completion percentage

Mariota is a less violent version of Ghengis Khan.

Physically they are like mirror images, both very athletic for the position-don't forget Tannehill was a former WR-and they both have quiet/reserved personalities.

    Ryan Tannehill
    Height: 6' 4"
    Weight: 221
    40 Yrd Dash: 4.58

    Marcus Mariota
    Height: 6' 4"
    Weight: 222
    40 Yrd Dash: 4.52

Take your beef up with former Baltimore Ravens scout, Daniel Jeremiah, as that is his comp. On his podcast, he read verbatim his old scouting report for Tannehill to show how eerily similar they are as prospects in his eyes. He also wrote the following:

Marcus Mariota = Ryan Tannehill? My prospect/pro comparisons

    Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

NFL COMP: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins

When it comes to the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, I've heard several interesting NFL comps, from Alex Smith to Russell Wilson to Colin Kaepernick. However, I liken Mariota to Tannehill when he was coming out of Texas A&M three years ago. Both guys are naturally great athletes with quiet personalities. And just like Tannehill when he was entering the NFL, Mariota will need some time to develop. They both throw with touch and accuracy underneath but need to improve their accuracy on drive throws down the field.

Well if he does come here I certainly hope he's better than fuckin Tannehill! I take that scouting report/comparison not as a compliment!

Nothing about their games are similar. The only comparison I see is a slightly better throwing version of Kaepernick.
