not guilty of anything we know but obviously he thought he was guilty of something which was why he apparently ran.
If you decide to "tussle with a cop", you should expect a beatdown. Still doesn't give the cop the right to impose an immediate death sentence. Jail the cop. Try the cop. Fry the cop.
Doesn't matter what he may or may not have been guilty of. Doesn't matter if he killed ten babies this morning and ate them for breakfast with eggs and an English muffin. Still doesn't give the cop the right to impose the death penalty. Arrest the cop. Try him. Then fry him.
don't run if you have nothing to hide. This doesn't absolve the officer but if this info is true he'd still be alive if he didn't run.
Get off your high horse. People run for all sorts of reasons. Given recent events, I'd run too if I was black and some white tough-guy cop started giving me the business. I'd run for my life, which is what this guy did. Still doesn't give the cop the right to execute him. And, that's what this was...an execution. Again, I don't care if he raped ten nuns this morning, gutted them, and ate their entrails. Still no reason for the cop to execute him without a fair trial. Try the cop, fry the cop.
please stop, given what recent events? criminals being killed after resisting arrest? there's no reason to run unless he knows he is guilty of something. this doesn't absolve the officer but it could have saved his life.
So basically you are blaming the police who were doing their job in Staten island for a deranged person executing 2 officers in Brooklyn. A lot of stupid things get posted on here but this is easily in the top 10. And no matter how many times you say it, this was not over cigarettes.
I don't care if the guy raped and killed Hillary Clinton, flayed her like a fish, removed her skeleton and sewed her skin onto his own body, ripped her eyeball out and then used her fingerprints and retinal scan to gain entrance into the White House, killed Obama, raped and mutilated his children and wife, and then unilaterally launched a nuclear attack on Russia. It still doesn't give some hick cop the right to execute him. Try the cop, fry the cop.
The perp was committing an illegal act and resisted arrest. If someone driving with a suspended license and when pulled over pulled out a gun and started shooting would you say it was all over a silly suspended license when he got shot and killed by the police? Bringing up the fact that he was selling illegal cigarettes as if they just pulled out their guns and started shooting because of that fact is just a ridiculous when the fact that actually matters is him resisting arrest. And what should they have done? Say pretty please? No, they tried talking and he said "it stops today" indicating that he was not going peacefully. When you go to take someone down you do not stop until they are subdued. Watch just a few videos of take downs and a large majority you will hear, "I can't breathe, you're hurting my arm, you're breaking my ribs", not because this is actually true but because they are trying to get away. The mere fact that he was selling cigarettes illegally is what was stupid. Get a legal job, I doubt the police are going to come in Mickey Dee's and arrest him for making a quarter pounder with cheese.
One thing doesn't happen w/out the other, that I can guarantee you. Pretty obvious. Yes, it was over cigarettes. Watch the video. I am blaming their incompetence to handle a situation such as that one. Don't worry your justification about this whole thing is extremely stupid. They did not do their job to the best of their abilities. This whole thing trickled down and not only did an innocent person get killed, so did 2 other cops. If the cops handled Garner better, and decided not to kill him, I personally believe those 2 cops would be alive today. That estranged man sought revenge. That was evident if you saw his social media account.
Yes, when I first watched it I thought maybe I clicked on the wrong video because it didn't seem like someone trying to get away. Hopefully everything goes through all the proper channels and the officer is made to pay for the crime. Of course I am just going off what I saw in the video but he seems like he is guilty without a doubt.
I read somewhere that the cost for putting a camera on every patrol officer in NYC would cost $32 million, the pilot program putting cameras on 15% is costing $5 million. The savings in lawsuits and other related costs would more than cover the cost though.
