Who are you kidding--I've been tied into that program since 1977--I've know every detail about that investigation since it started. I don't read the papers like you, I've know about it all along. Oh please, stop being naive--we all saw Tony Red Bruins brand spanking new Trans Am on Marshall Street. I worked out with dozens of basketball and football players and saw all their largesse--happens on every major college campus. My roommate freshman year was Arnie Burdik's son and I kept in touch with Arnie until well after I left Syracuse. I'm on that campus 5-6 times a year, every year since I graduated. I actually WENT to Syracuse, as did my wife and 2 sons. Who do you think you know or what you know that I don't know? Please stop embarrassing yourself. _
Sad part is most of his arguments don't even hold water. Almost all of his arguments are based off perception, and not general or unbiased perception but just his own perception. Anything that doesn't fit his perception is 'meaningless' or 'fantasy' or 'you just don't understand'. I've met people in asylums with better grips on reality.
That's why I keep asking about John Hadl and Bert Jones and Jim Hart and Roman Gabriel and Brian Sipe and YA Tittle and Archie Manning. They are the same player as O'Brien yet those fan bases embrace those players as all time great (for the franchise) as do MOST of our fans as well. Except one fraud. Because Kenny got booed. Dan MARINO got BOOED. If Kenny isn't an all time great Jet than neither are those players. _
it's much deeper than stuff they had on campus. the cheating was widespread, to think it was a witchhunt shows how little you actually knew. You embarrass yourself every day on here, take your own advice. so why couldn't they win w/ any QB? actually they all do, all you guys have is some meaningless accumulated #s based on longevity. I thought you were just goofing around, deflecting as always but you are serious? you are more clueless than I thought.
show me one good argument that has counters what I have posted? is it stokes insane ramblings that have nothing to do w/ Ken O'Brien? 1968 making up fake injuries? what is it?
Busted. http://thejetsblog.com/nyjets/tjb-hall-of-fame-ken-obrien/ "A 45-3 drubbing kick-started a five game slide to culminate the regular season that almost saw the Jets miss the postseason altogether despite their incredible start. Injuries were the main reason for the slide, with O’Brien struggling over the last five weeks as he dealt with the effects of a broken finger." http://bleacherreport.com/articles/212837-comparing-the-quarter-back-draft-classes-1983-vs-2004 " Ken O'Brien, New York Jets. O'Brein lasted 11 years in the NFL was was selected to the Pro Bowl twice. In 1985, O'Brein was the highest rated QB in the NFL. In 1986, after leading the Jets to a 10-1 record, O'Brein broke a finger, leading the Jets would to five straight losses." y his second season, he was a Pro Bowler (quicker than Elway). He led the NFL in passer ratings several years and, in 1986, had New York at 10-1 before a broken finger turned that dream season to dust. "By his second season, he was a Pro Bowler (quicker than Elway). He led the NFL in passer ratings several years and, in 1986, had New York at 10-1 before a broken finger turned that dream season to dust." No mention of a broken finger that affected his play eh? I can come up with independent links all day that say otherwise, including news stories from 1986....do you really want me to expose your lies any further?
I didn't go back to anything, I am countering your weak arguments which happened to include the record of the original starter.
you calling someone else cowardly, that's funny. yeah, it's takes guts to sit among 70K plus and boo a player. the nonsense some of you guys spew is beyond comical.
you give me a fan blog, I give you the NY Times. same thing and who is this Ken O'Brein they are discussing at bleacher report? and again you said broken FINGERS w/ an "s". meaning more than one. You are all over the place.
Wrong again Junc, I watched those games, I lived and died with those games. I saw them play, I remember the games. I remember O'Brien breaking his finger and telling my friend 'We're Screwed'. Yes numbers back it up, but I saw it all.
Rofl typical, my memory originall y thought it was fingers plural, but on double checking it was a single finger, either way it's still more correct than your 'there was no broken finger'. Finger or fingers, either way it was at least partially accurate, which is more than can be said for your 'report'. Like I said Junc, I can come up with references to the broken finger all day long, it's a documentable fact. Unlike your faulty perception.
this is funny when actually reading this: while he made a pro bowl before Elway, it was Ken's 3rd season not 2nd. John would make his first a year later while leading his team to the Super Bowl. If by several they meant ONE I agree. real reputable sources you have there here is the NY Times which I posted earlier and you ignored- not a fan blog from 20 years later. so in the next to last game he hurt a knuckle in a pinky, very different than broken fingerS suffered after Miami game, right? http://www.nytimes.com/1986/12/25/sports/walton-reversing-field-benches-o-brien-for-ryan.html you can get away w/ nonsense like that w/ other posters- you can't get it by me.
come up w/ a real reference and we'll talk. I posted a NY Times article from the time, you give me bleacher report and a fan blog.
That's a debate strategy just like how he likes to prorate stats you can't prove or disprove those things. Fuck that shit. Is Philadelphia's team built around its offense? Yes. So therefore based on your logic not mine, they deserve most of the blame. Especially the man that so called "elevated" their offense. And if he "elevated" their "O" then he should get some blame too right?
he led them to almost a TD more per game against the tougher part of their schedule. Not bad for a backup that had missed the previous year w/ an injured throwing shoulder.
