outside of meaningless fantasy #s what criteria do you use to list Ken as an :all time great Jet"? and how many booed weekly? how many benched for a player like Kyle Mackey?
ROFL, he was playing with busted fingers AND STILL was starting over Ryan till the playoffs. The spark in the playoff win vs the Chiefs? the Jets defense held the chiefs to 67 yards rushing (half of that on Scrambles by Todd Blackledge, the QB that Ryan 'beat'.) and held the Chiefs league low passing attack to 177 yards, 2 interceptions and a fumble. Freeman McNeil ran wild on the Chiefs with 135 yards rushing and 2 TD's scored. Before the broken finger the Jets were 10-1, post broken finger 0-5. Before broken finger he was setting passing records, post broken finger he could barely throw the ball. Yet it was 'Ryan' who came in to save the day....you were watching as a kid, I was watching as an adult.
There you go with the Fantasy numbers routine again, funny how they're only fantasy numbers when they don't fit your convoluted ideological view.
Hahahaaa you have no sources anywhere--you're just a fraud making shit up. If you know a player--spill it. I actually know Doherty. Your program's cheating makes what we did miniscule. Systematic cheating on such a wide scale it's incomparable to anything in the history of the NCAAs. We had a booster in the local Oneida Y that everyone knew about but couldn't be coralled. He gave some kids pocket money. Some kids smoked weed. The biggest issue was trying to help Fab Melo stay in school. We all knew it. What your school did was make hundreds of basketball players that should have been ineligible eligible. You're going to lose games and banners. You know it's coming. Happens to all of us. _
It's not about Ryan, Ryan was nothing more than a backup. It was about Ken who was BENCHED for a career backup for the playoffs and that career backup WON a playoff game something Ken could never do. you don't remember the QB draw? the article I posted said he had a hurt pinky suffered in 2nd to last game so stop w/ the 0-5 after nonsense. you weren't watching closely as an adult. 5 game losing streak to end season: O averaged 9.4 PPG led by Ken(pre finger injury they were 0-3 w/ 5.3 PPG) KC playoff game O scores 28 led by the backup
please give me your criteria, all I here about is "2nd in yards,,...", blah, blah, blah. he had ONE really good season and that's it. Vinny had one really good season too but his one really good season was better than Ken's and he led us to title game. Chad had one big season but a few other good seasons, Sanchez never had the big reg season but helped us win 4 playoff games. all are ahead of Ken for me.
Have you seen Hadls and Jones and Gabriels and Harts and Tittles fantasy number? All time greats. Still lost all their playoff games. But that doesn't matter for other franchises, just ours. It's like we're the 49ers with Montana and Young and Brodie and Tittle. Oh shit, Tittle lost all his playoff games--strike that. _
I told you about this player years ago, no need to get him in trouble. I don't know Matt, I do know folks that know him. I will send a message his way. the only one spewing BS here is you. SU was cheating while the investigators were there, it was so ingrained they didn't even stop while being investigated and it wasn't the first time SU was caught/ That quote is completely false and was proven false in the Wainstein report. it was an academic issue not an athletic one, more reg students took those classes than athletes. some basketball players took and did the required work. that didn't happen in women's basketball and football but it did w/ men's basketball. football was already punished and I would expect the women's team to get hit hard.
"Hey kids, go put on your coats.....daddy's taking you all out to Red Lobster!" ...... *kids* 'yea!!!' "Honey that's great!....what are we celebrating?.....did you get a raise?.....a promotion?" "Nope, daddy won an argument on the Internet!!!!"
we don't eat at Red Lobster but I have a tote board on the fridge w/ all arguments won. so far I am 6,745-1. they are all very proud and impressed!
Because the guy he replaced was even worse (hence why I said 'almost' any QB). But more importantly. his 7 wins record was put together against opponents who finished a combined 39 and 78 with only 2 teams having winning records, the Titans at 13-3 and the Jets at 9-7, the other wins came against the 4-12 Bengals, the 5-11 Cowboys, the 4-12 Browns, the 1-15 Chargers, and the 3-13 Cardinals. During that stretch one of the all time great defenses only gave up a grand total of 67 points, or less than 10 points per game average. The Ravens didn't win because of Dilfer, they could have done that stretch of games with Banks still at QB, they won because 5 of the 7 teams they beat were god awful teams that year. If you take out the two teams with winning records the other 5 teams they beat were a combined 17 and 63, and one of the other two teams was only an average team at 9-7. In short they got a on a roll because they were facing very bad teams. In the playoffs the Ravens won because in the 4 playoff games they gave up a total of 23 points, only giving up as many as 10 vs the Titans. Dilfer didn't win for the Ravens, he rode a soft schedule and an elite defense through the end of the season and an elite defense through the playoffs. Any QB could have ridden that out with that team. Context is everything Junc.
never said they won b/c of him but he was vital to the run. Obviously they won w/ D first w/ an al time great D but w/o the contributions from Dilfer they don't win. their coach didn't value Dilfer and brought in a #s guy the next year- how did that work out? limiting TOs and making the occasional big play are part of playing well and that helped Bal win. you don't need to throw for 300 yds to have a good game.
That's because other fans have had teams that know that winning is a team effort and can recognize individuals regardless of win or loss within context. When you have a team that's been as hapless as the jets for 50 years you get deluded in to thinking it takes a great player to win.....or just the right individual...great teams know it's about the team.
Vital to their run? rofl. Banks had gone 5-3 through the hard part of the schedule and then Dilfer comes in for the easy part and he's 'vital'? OMFG, that's too funny.
we had a team capable of winning, proven when our career backup came in and led us to a playoff win and had us in great shape the next playoff game before he got hurt. if he was on bad teams his entire career I would think differently, 1989 we were terrible and had no chance. that's not on him but he had many years w/ quality talent that he could have won some playoff games with.
