Ken is still the 2nd best, injuries or not. Namath remains the best and those years from 1966-1969 were fabulous.

not 2nd best for me, 5th best at best. could have been much higher but his success was too brief.

I'm trying to figure this out because I watched every one of these QBs (other than Tittle) and O'Brien was as good as or better than every one.

    Ken O'Brien
    John Hadl
    Bert Jones
    Roman Gabriel
    Jim Hart
    Brian Sipe
    YA Tittle

He was statistically superior or on par with every single one.

Yet every other QB on this list is considered an all time great for their franchise but inexplicably O'Brien isn't.

I need to know what the criteria is. Why are all those other QBs held in high esteem by their fanbases but not O'Brien?

Are there some stats I'm not seeing? Some eye test I missed as a kid? Some objective or subjective measure that distinguishes Ken from Hadl or Jones or Gabriel or Hart or Sipe? Did they throw more TDs or complete more passes or have a higher completion rate or a higher QB rating or better INT rate?

Are they all 1st or 2nd or 3rd in every major statistical QB category for their respective franchises?

    It can't be playoff wins.

They ALL lost every playoff game they ever played in--what separates them from O'Brien that elevates them to all time franchise greats?

    But not O'Brien.

Other than child hood hate that hasn't subsided.

our 2nd best QB ever was benched based on play for the following players:

    Pat Ryan- multiple times
Tony Eason(weeks after we picked him up off the scrap heap after NE released him)
    Kyle Mackey
    Browning Nagle

how many of those other QBs were benched this many times while healthy? and how many benched for the dregs on this list?

When pathetic Jet fans have no facts to back up their ridiculous arguments they resort to memes.

It's then when you know you've beaten them.

But seriously, why are all those non-playoff winning QBs considered all time franchise greats but not Kenny.

Childhood hate of the player that has never subsided.

Nobody said second best--nice reading comprehension or lack of math skills--there can be more that 2 all time great players at a position.

    McNeil. Martin. Boozer. Snell.

Kenny is an all time great Jet. Like John Hadl. Bert Jones. Roman Gabriel. Jim Hart. Brian Sipe. YA (HOF) Tittle.

You keep saying he was your favorite player as a child but your posts say otherwise.

I love the angry little guy. Kenny has nothing to do w/ Hadl, Jones, Gabriel, Hart or Sipe. he was a guy that was booed out of the stadium(probably by a 30 year old stokes), a guy who had ONE big season for us then disappeared. that's not an all time great in anything. the only al time great list he is on for us is the best Cal-Davis players to ever play for the Jets.

Your recall is too great for our resident O'Brien hater to remember.

Don't worry, we all get it.

According to your logic you blamed the defense in '09 and '10 because the team was built around its defense. So using that criteria it's pretty much fair to blame the offense in Philly since that's what they are built around right? You make all those excuses get you're quick to say that he "elevated" the offense.

as people grow up they learn, I thought he was much better than he was as a kid. I still like him, I appreciate every player to play for us but I can also speak realistically about them. some of us cannot though b/c of their crush on him.

except for the little fact that, as usual, I am right. he was BENCHED for poor play not for injury.

he used the word elevated because its not quantifiable. you can't dispute "elevated" because its a matter of opinion

was Philly's O #1 ranked? the best in the league like we supposedly were? Yes the expectations were higher for the O and he ELEVTAED the O.
