OK, at least you recognize the fact that he didn't play good enough ... So which QB do you take specifically that game? No need to dodge the question. Just say Sanchez and stop trying to BS me.
thats fair. and kind of what we were talking about in that he is a top 2-3 guy on the jets but the jets qbs have been putrid for just about the entirety of their existence. anyway, yesterday this thread was at 13 pages, now its at 19..... has anything worth reading occurred? if not can i get a cliffs notes summary from one of you fine gentlemen.
By that logic when Philly needed the 5th best offense led by the man that "elevated" the offense to step up they didn't but yet you blamed the 28th ranked defense.
I don't think we make that game w/ Favre and w/ him I could see losing 42-20 or something like that. each situation is different. Remember, Mark was a backup who had missed a year. he came in and played well for them but you guys say he sucks and if that is the case is it fair to expect a QB that sucks to carry a team on his shoulders? he elevated the O and the D disintegrated- they couldn't stop anyone. Philly averaged about 30 PPG w/ Mark at QB, that should be good enough to be above .500 at least.
Doubt it. We more than likely have a better record then 9-7 if Mark isn't starting and you have 2009 Favre on the 2009 Jets. That is a SB contending team w/ Favre, no doubt. I doubt the outcome is what you say, more than likely we win that game or at least it's not an 11 point loss.
you must understand 2009 Favre was on a team he WANTED to play for in a system he played his entire career in. That version of Favre was never going to play for us. IF we got that version then yes we could have won it all but that version wasn't playing for us. he never wanted to be here and it showed on Sundays.
I would prob take 22TDs and 22INTs over 13TDs and 20INTs w/ a ton of fumbles but that's just me. Both shitty, but hey one has 9 more passing TDs. Besides, we have no clue what the Jets offense does w/ Favre in 2009 - maybe in his 2nd season they change the offense up, you never know. At the end of the day - you know Favre would have given the Jets the best chance to win - that's all I am saying.
Mark was good in the majority of his games that year, he had 3-4 brutal games that skewed the #s. that team didn't need a gunslinger. Favre never wanted to be here, there was never going to be a 2009 w/ us.
our QB did throw an 80 yd TD pass, we didn't need a gunslinger but we probably did need more playmakers. if we get 2009 Vikings Favre we have a chance but again that guy wasn't playing for us.
So what have we determined here today. That the following QBs have something in common. That they are ALL in the top 1 or 2 or 3 leaders in every major statistical category for QBs of their respective franchises. ALL TIME. Ken O'Brien John Hadl Bert Jones Roman Gabriel Jim Hart Brian Sipe YA Tittle Sonny Jurgensen Archie Manning That they are ALL clearly all time great QB for their respective franchises. Had outstanding careers, won a lot of important games, won MVPs or Offensive Players of the Year or made Pro Bowls. Clearly not all time great QBs (well, other than the two Hall of Famers) but that wasn't the criteria and they are all beloved by the multitudes of their true fans--other than cranky clueless fake fans that hated those players as kids and haven't gotten over it. We should all feel good about that. Yet every single one of those all time greats lost every playoff game they ever played (or never won one). So therefore they cannot be considered all time greats by their fan bases, by their franchises. To be shunned as borderline franchise QBs. Bert Jones. John Hadl. Roman Gabriel. Jim Hart. Ken O'Brien. Brian Sipe. That historically inferior and clearly lesser QBs should be considered loftier in the pantheon of all time franchise greats because they won a playoff game. That's just pathetic. _
We had the play-makers. Braylon, Keller and Cotchery were just fine. We needed to take more chances down-the field and extend drives that's what we needed to do. Specifically the 4th QTR, we played awful as a team, but I think a better QB could have masked some of the issues we were having at that time. Meaning the lack of a run game. Gotta extend drives, 3rd down you have to make plays and we didn't make any that 4th QTR. Again, I did not like Favre coming here, but he would have been a better option then Sanchez.
we had quality WRs but not dynamic playmakers. Holmes would be that the next year. Mark was a rookie on the road in a close title game, yeah we could have gotten better QB play that half.
I'm sorry what MVPs or offensive POY awards did Ken win? he did make a Pro Bowl throwing 10 TDs and 11 INTs which is damn impressive! one of his amazing # of 2 pro bowls. how many of those guys saw their backup QB win a playoff game w/ their team?
You can be funny at times. I'll give you that.[/QUOTE] You're delusional at times, we know that. But again I watched those teams Junc, I watched those games. You blame him for losing against Cleveland. Did you know that he actually did not start that game? Did you know he came in to spark an offense that was faltering despite having broken fingers? Did you know that he had the team up by 10 points with 4 minutes left in the game only to see the defense totally collapse. But yeah, he was the reason the Jets lost the game. Did you know that nearly everyone, and by nearly everyone I mean everyone but you, acknowledges that the offensive line during that time was bad. He's still the 2nd best QB the team has ever had and he's the 2nd most elite QB the team has ever had. Put Sanchez on that 1985 team and they don't get to the playoffs, Sanchez holds the ball even longer than O'Brien did.
sweet, although i am disappointed i missed a brian sipe spotting. i always liked him. you know i never even think a thought about sancho anymore other than when a certain someone brings him up. then i get annoyed, then i remember it doesnt matter because he is motherfucking gone... and then i rejoice.
Which one of these QBs that lost every playoff game they ever played in are not all time great QBs for their franchises? Ken O'Brien John Hadl Bert Jones Roman Gabriel Jim Hart Brian Sipe YA Tittle Which ones? _
