I remember liking Roman Gabriel as a kid--man he was surely an all time Ram QB--no one could argue otherwise.

1st or 2nd or 3rd in every major statistical catregory for a Rams QB. In their history. Played about the same number of games as O'Brien.

Surely one of the all time great Rams QB has one at LEAST one playoff game, right?

I mean, how else could he be considered an all time great Ram, right?

    Nope. Lost them all.

    That can't be right.

You seem to be somewhat of an NFL historian--can you explain to me how a guy like YA Tittle can make it into the Hall of Fame--not only thought of as a great all time Giant and 49er but also an ALL TIME GREAT NFL QB and yet he lost every single playoff game he ever played?

I know the some Jet fans require winning a playoff game to be ordained an all time great--but does the NFL Hall of Fame have a different set of criteria?

Do they not take abject failure in the playoffs into consideration?

I would think the Hall of Fame has higher standards than Jet fans bullshiting on a message board.

    No?

Was it just the picture of his head getting cracked open?

There was only the championship games back then, but yeah, never won a playoff game.

Neither did Sonny Jurgensen also of the Hall of Fame.

Can't be considered an all time great I guess.

Can you imagine if Favre had stayed one or 2 more years and his injured shoulder healed up like it did when he got to Minny?

Can you say Back to Back?

right now there's probably some jackass fan in at the vikingsfans.com board(probably a pathetic little midget who played intramural flag football at Minnesota State and tells everyone he was a college athlete[IMG] ) and he's telling all Vioking fans how great Daunte Culpepper was b/c he put up great fantasy #s.

there's a pathetic, clueless insecure midget in every crowd.

if they didn't pull off the deal for Sanchez on draft day, the plan was to draft Percy Harvin and get Rex on the first flight to the bayou to convince Favre to come and play for him. What a better plan that was in hindsight and I think we likely win a title in 2009 or 2010

yep, that worked out great for us in 2008 and Minny in 2009(and GB in 2007) as Favre threw away hos teams chances each season but you put up great fantasy #s and entertained thousands of clueless idiots!

Farve was actually never a very good fantasy football QB..

well I suppose that's a strong statement. He did throw for a crap load of TDs (2nd most all time) which is good for winning fantasy football games I guess. Winning real games though? no way - TD passes is a meaningless statistic. Show me the players with the most TD passes and you'll see a list of crappy QBs I'm sure.

That Chiefs team that pat Ryan played was terrible. The Jets went into that game heavy favorites despite losing their last five in a row!

Favre was awesome in 2009, can't blame him for losing to the Bounty-Gate Saints. They intentionally tried to injure Favre.

2010 however, Favre was absolute shit. I doubt we get the 2009 version of Favre on the Jets however.

    I'll second that.

Those sideline bombs to Roger Carr were a thing of beauty.

In 1976, Carr only had 43 receptions, but they went for 1112 yards, and average per reception of 25.9 yards.

Yeah he dropped off from his dynamic 2009 year- but the 2010 Jets were stacked. He wouldnt've have needed to be traditional Favre, he would've just needed to be a little bit better than Mark Sanchez, which, lets be real, Brett Favre easily could've done that with that Jets team

Loved Bert Jones--great great arm. He was truly an all time great Colt QB.

Which is weird. Given the criteria.

Yeah, can't disagree with that notion. We more than likely host a home playoff game with Favre in 2010. Seemed Favre didn't care too much about playing in 2010. With LT and Jason Taylor, I am sure Favre would've been more motivated.

2008 Jets w/ Brett Favre miss playoffs w/ weakest sched we have ever had and no Tom Brady around to torment us.
2009 Jets w/ Mark Sanchez- double digit lead in Championship Game.
