If Favre doesn't get injured we win the SB that year.

Jim Hart is arguably the greatest QB in the history of the Cardinal franchise.

Clearly an all time great Cardinal.

Surely he could have won one playoff game, right? Being an all time great Cardinal?

Nope, lost every one he played.

John Hadl was an all time great San Diego Charger.

Surely such an historically great Charger should have won at least one playoff game?

    Nope. Lost every one.

Careful, you might cause the universe to implode if someone had to admit something like that.

I can, I thought O'Brien was the 2nd best Jets QB behind only Namath at the time he was playing. He had an awful offensive line and a headcoach in Walton who ran one of the most complex and awful offensive schemes with complex receiver routes that just took too long to develop.

Give him the Jets O-line and defense in 2009 and the jets are in the superbowl, ditto with 2010.

The original Air Coryell, Jim Hart was a very good QB on terrible teams...reminiscent of Archie Manning

not a chance, he had good OPLs and Ds and MUCH more talent around him on O and could never win a playoff game. Put Mark on the 80s teams and we make a SB.

    more stupidity from little stokie

at the time he was playing he probably was #2 and now he's probably #5 or 6.

the OL was good not awful, do not confuse sacks w/ bad OL. AGAIN, his backup started one playoff game w/ Ken's team and WON.

ran one of the most complex and awful offensive schemes with complex receiver routes that just took too long to develop.[/QUOTE]
You can be funny at times. I'll give you that.

Stating that O'Brien had "so much more talent around him" is quite misleading. Two of his weapons, Freeman McNeil and Wesley Walker were often injured and were not reliable to be there on game day. They missed as much time as they played. In the good O'Brien years (1984-1988), Walker never started more than 10 games in a season. He only started 8 in 1986 and 4 in 1987. McNeil was healthy in 1988 only. In other years he was only around for 12,13, 11 and 8 games.

Last week I rewatched the playoff game against the Browns. The Jets offensive line was completely dominated. Ryan was on the run when he was in the game before succombing to injury. O'Brien came in when the Jets were already behind and didn't have much time. He did make enough plays to give the Jets the lead. But with the likes of Gordon King at one tacle being a swining door all game and future center Jim Sweeney tring to play left tackle things were not going to go well.

yet w/ that same talent Pat Ryan won a playoff game and had the Jets in position to win the one where O'Brien looked lost at Cleveland. amazing coincidence.

no way dude. How can you be considered an all time great without a playoff win? Stan Humphries was way better. And he wasn't a choker in the playoffs like Dan Fouts or Phil Rivers.

    Best SD QBs:
    1. Stan Humphries
    2. Drew Brees
    3. Dan Fouts
    4. John Hadl
    5. Phil Rivers

I love when our resident petty little men deflect w/ nonsense since they don't have a real argument against what I post. It's cute when they try to gang up on me. A bunch of clueless buffoons.

Right now there is some jackass fake fan down in Baltimore on the old Coltsfan.com board (probably screen-named baltduke-- and he didn't even GO to Duke) and he's grounding all old Baltimore Colts fans in "reality" by schooling them on how Bert Jones wasn't an all time Colt QB and how Jim Harbaugh was a better Colt QB because he won a playoff game.

And also saying asinine stuff like Dan Orlovsky and Blair Kiel and Tom Ramsey and Ricky Turner and Mike Pagel and Curtis Painter have as many playoffs wins as Bert Jones.

There's a clueless one in every crowd.
