Bradford may not even be on the team. Mark was going to battle w/ Foles, they traded Foles for Bradford so he'll compete w/ Bradford who has been worse than Foles and Mark in his career(though the upside is higher than either). Kelly really likes Mark, I'm not convinced Bradford will even be on the Eagles this season.
Bradford absolutely will be on the team barring injury, he's going to have the best year of his career if and it's obviously a big if he can stay healthy. Everybody wants to compare Mariotta to other running QB's but I see Bradford with more athleticism. I was surprised by the trade but it totally made sense to me. Kelly obviously sees the same similarities.
his athleticism has been compromised w/ all the injuries. I love Bradford's potential, I wanted him here. if healthy I think he can be really good but Mark played well for them last year, has a year in the system and is completely healthy now. we'll see.
I agree with that to some degree, but how the hell could he not want to be there after beating the Titans and having the best record in the NFL!??!
Ten years as a Pro, two time Pro-Bowler, AFC Player of they year. I call that a successful QB career.
whatever it is it was a good deal higher w/ Ken than Pat. either way anyone watching those days knew how frustrating it was watching Ken hold onto the ball all day. He was like a Drew Bledsoe type. Could make all the throws, physically gifted but always wanted to make the big play and it hurt them. Was my favorite player as a kid but is vastly overrated by Jet fans on this board.
The did as well as the Jets Defense against the Browns in that 2OT playoff game that they choked away. But that was Ken O'Brien's fault though.
one of his "pro bowl" seasons was 1991 when he was 60th alternate in a season he threw 10 TDs and 11 INTs so please let's not discuss 2 pro bowls anymore. he had a great year in 1985 and earned it, was on his way in 1986 before that season and his career fell apart and he would never ben able to recapture that 1985/early 1986 level of play again.
The Jets D choked, no doubt about it but we could have played 30 OTs and wouldn't have scored unless our D scored or set up a FG. The QB was putrid.
A three play difference is negligable. a FOURTEEN play difference, which was Vinny Testaverde with a REAL OFFENSIVE LINE, is substantial.
Only Joe and Kenny were multiple Jet QB Pro Bowlers--back when the Pro Bowl meant something. It's a shame that the all time leader in completions, second all time leader in TD passes, passing yardage and games played and third all time in completion %, INT % and QB rating gets shit on by Jet fans. Pathetic. _
once every 3 plays and is significant and Vinny would throw the ball away hence his much higher INT %.
Oh, I'm right there with you--I LOVED Marino at Pitt. But O'Brien was a damn good QB for us. As bad as we've been at the QB position, he's an all-time Jet. _
yep, throwing 10 TDs and 11 INTs meant something (I know you are trolling but this is more for those that actually think Ken was great)
my biggest knock is he never won a playoff game w/ some of the most loaded teams in franchise history in a weak era for AFC football. the Marino stuff he couldn't control.
Well "trolling" actually adds credibility to their arguments. I think we all recognize that Ken O'Brien wasn't Dan Marino. Mean spirited arguments just make YOU look small.
