So if one of these WR goes down, injuries do happen (Decker had hammy issues all year, Marshall had ankle and toe issues) where are we? Same place we were the last two years. You can never have enough playmakers, especially with a young QB

While I agree with you that you can never have enough playmakers (and the Jets sure haven't over the last 10 years!), I agree that I don't see the Jets taking a WR at #6. If Mariota's there, Mac will take him. I totally believe that. He may even try to trade up to get him. If he can't trade up and/or Mariota isn't there, then I think he will go pass rusher. He can always grab a WR like Dorsett in the 2nd round. Thankfully, it's another deep draft for WRs, and he should be able to get a quality WR prospect in the 2nd or 3rd round. Even if not, the point can definitely be made that OLB, OG and maybe even RB are bigger needs.

We drafted 3 WRs in the mid rounds last year. Wouldn't you like to see them play just a little before cutting them for some other teams cast off?

    I would.

I still don't see what impact signing Moore or similar FA has on these "promising" young receivers "waiting in the wings" like Quincy Enunwa who couldn't even make a team with one of the worst receiving cores in the league or Shaq Evans who was doing absolutely awfully during camp before he was put on IR. It'd be nice if one of them shows something, but I'd be very surprised. Even if they bring in another WR or two, if Evans or Enunwa can play, they'll earn their spot. It's not like signing someone means Evans or Enunwa will have no chance to compete; it's insurance and depth in the (likely) event neither shows anything.

Two guys on our roster who did play well as Wrs in very limited roles and aren't a joke are Greg Salas and Chris Owusu. As for Quincy and Shaq: they're both long shots to make the team but I for one want to see what they can do. If I'm the Jets unless we take a receiver very high I wouldn't take one. After last year's draft we have enough Wr projects on the roster.

I disagree. Salas isn't even on the team now and Owusu has a little promise, but he just had a couple good moments in the last game of the season. This shouldn't stop them from adding a WR at any point in the draft, and it won't..

If any of those guys are good then they'll stick around regardless of who else is added. Gailey has a history of 5-WR sets anyway
