Mark also has double the amount of buttfumbles in less than half the games. Prostate that out to games played and you have a finger up his ass. Sniff the finger and then you will be enlightened and reach true fan status.
Happy Easter guys(and Passover), I look forward to Hackett coming in Monday and bashing the easter bunny, Cadbury, the chocolate industry and whatever else he can think of.
I am not sure how you calculate "Approximate Value", but using this statistic, here are the Top 25 Jets of all-time: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyj/career-av.htm Rk From To G Pos AV 1 Don Maynard 1960 1972 172 E 132 2 Mo Lewis 1991 2003 200 LB 116 3 Larry Grantham 1960 1972 175 LB 115 4 Joe Namath 1965 1976 136 QB 112 5 Joe Fields 1975 1987 173 C 100 6 Winston Hill 1963 1976 195 T 100 7 Freeman McNeil 1981 1992 144 RB 96 8 Dan Alexander 1977 1989 192 G 94 9 Curtis Martin 1998 2005 123 RB 93 10 Mark Gastineau 1979 1988 137 DE 91 11 Kevin Mawae 1998 2005 118 C 91 12 Randy Rasmussen 1967 1981 207 G 91 13 Wesley Walker 1977 1989 154 WR 91 14 Marvin Powell 1977 1985 124 T 89 15 David Harris 2007 2014 123 LB 87 16 Ken O'Brien 1984 1992 124 QB 84 17 Shaun Ellis 2000 2010 170 DE 79 18 Joe Klecko 1977 1987 140 DT 78 19 Jim Sweeney 1984 1994 166 C 78 20 Nick Mangold 2006 2014 141 C 77 21 Kyle Clifton 1984 1996 204 LB 74 22 Darrelle Revis 2007 2012 79 DB 72 23 Ralph Baker 1964 1974 142 LB 69 24 Wayne Chrebet 1995 2005 152 WR 68 25 Bryan Thomas 2002 2012 157 DE 68
I like Sanchez as much as anyone, but pro-rating his stats out to Namath's stats is intellectually dishonest. Mark didn't play as many games as Namath because he wasn't good enough to stay as the Jets QB for more than 4 years. Had he been better in 2011 and 2012, he is our starter for another 10+ years and arguably one of the franchise's best QBs. He didn't so therefore he's not. I wonder how many game winning drives he'd have if you prorated his stats out to a 15 year starter for the Jets. By that logic the dude is in the HOF. _
Bryan Thomas has the 25th highest approximate value of any player in franchise history. Holy mother of fuck.
He deserves praise. He's an all time great Jet. Top 1 or 2 in every major statistical category for QBs. I saw him play, compared to what this franchise has produced at the position, he was a great QB for us. _
Never would have guessed that Kyle Clifton was the #1 all time Jet in tackles. He was a good player, but most tackles?!?!
Mo Lewis, No. 2. Joe Klecko, No. 16. This is the kind of thing that people come up with if they never saw either guy play.
In his 1st 2 years he was fine--its his last 2 that were atrocious. He just wasn't the same player and/or he got figured out.
Geno turned the ball over a lot because he sometimes were either late on his throws/reads or made poor decisions. Sanchez turned the ball over a lot because of Cylde Gates and Chaz Schillens.
