Saw the links for other statistics there too. Never knew Johnny Hector was fifth all time rushing or that Jericho Cotchery was top 10 receiving all time!

only 3 QBs w/ at least 50 starts that have a winning record.

That's an interesting top 5 QB list.

The filter it is on is based on total career yardage

Yeah I get that--was just looking at yardage and TDs and completions and INT% and YPA and rating.

How sad that a guy drafted in the 60's is still the Jets all time passing leader. With all the rule changes favoring QB's and WR's and Namath is still the Jets all time passing leader (yards). What a joke.

Too bad QBs have to play with 21 others or they would all having winning records.

certain QBs played w/ a ton of talent and still had a losing record. we have a group here that worships this player.

Yet some folks still want to draft an OLB or WR.

17 1000 yard rushers in the history of the team. thats just absurd.

    also:

only O'Brien is anywhere near Joe in attempts(190 less), the next closest to Joe has over 1,000 less attemots. Might explain why Joe still leads in passing yards-0 also leads in INTs and losses too

let me rephrase that, 17 1000 yard rushing seasons, i think there are only 6 1000 yard rushers.

Namath started 129 games in his career, attempted 3762 passes- 29 passes per game. last year under pass happy Marty when we trailed in most games and also had to throw more we averaged 31 attempts per game.

exactly. in the 60s and 70s the most prolific passing teams in the game threw less than a shitty 4-12 2014 team that was 27th overall in passing attempts.

    Thanks for furthering my point

not sure how our QBs which haven't thrown that much and we haven't had any real long term guys besides O'Brien are expected to catch Joe in yards. after O'Brien the next most attempts are over 1,000 less. do you understand this?

I know this might be hard for you to believe, but usually good QBs are asked to throw more. Especially in todays game. Not hand the ball off all game and wear dummy wristbands. They also usually stay on the team longer and don't get released

Which was LTJFs original point: its a pretty sad that Namath who played in an era so different from today is still the all time leader, showing we haven't had very good QBs since. And especially in recent years with how much the game has changed

usually bad teams also throw more since they are generally behind in games needing to catch up. Oakland was 4th in attempts.

I take issue w/ the original point based on only having one QB in our history(who didn't play in this era) w/in 1,000 attempts of our leader.
