Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 5m5 minutes ago Former Patriots RB Stevan Ridley is leaving NJ this morning without a deal in place with the Jets. #nyj surprise, surprise
Pure speculation, but the money didn't match; given how long he's been on the market, Ridley's probably overvaluing himself.
Good. Focus on the draft and how we can improve the RB situation there. Tons of talent available and will be available as late as the 4th.
I wouldn't even mind taking one in the third honestly. Say we go pass rusher in the 1st, OL or WR in the 2nd... no problem going for an RB in the third. There will be plenty available and some that won't make it to round 4.
do people understand that just b/c a player visits it doesn't mean that we will sign him? it doesn't even mean that we want to sign him.
who said otherwise? also, just because he left doesnt mean we wont either. they could work out the deal during the day / weekend. maybe they want to wait til he gets a better report from the doctors and a clearer timeframe for when hes available. maybe he was a douche and bellichick benching him so quickly makes more sense. could be anything.
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 14m14 minutes ago Stevan Ridley does have visit(s) lined up next week. The feeling is that it'll ultimately come down to the Jets or Dolphins. We'll see #nyj
i'm really not interested in signing Ridley at all. he's not a dependable player. when it comes to ball security, pass pro, receiving, and picking up tougher yds, Powell is the better player. he'd be competing with D Richardson for a roster spot. hoping for a more dynamic player to contribute on 3rd downs in the draft. any pick between rounds 2 and 4. with this deep class, they'll contribute in some capacity right away.
Good...Let him go to the rotten tuna.We dont need anymore washed up RB projects(CJ).This years draft is loaded with young, fresh talent that's ready to be molded into future studs and I think coach Bowles is the man for the job..
I remember reading some stats that said the ratio in 2014 was the best ever for the last 25 years. In terms of NE fumbles. Can't find the article. The NFL with sucky Goodell in Kraft's back pocket does an excellent job of defusing anything that will throw egg in the face of the pats. JMO
