again though, having upperclassmen laden teams makes up for talent. he is not doing it w/ smoke and mirrors. he has plenty of COLLEGE talent. COLLEGE talent and NBA talent are 2 very different things.
you changed your argument you were arguing before that he did have NBA talent and the guys stayed even though they could have made the NBA very few players under Izzo have actually played much in the NBA. Elite talent makes the NBA. The fact that some of his players have "college talent" is thanks to playing under Izzo, most likely.
they have had plenty of NBA guys including 4 guys that recently left. I never claimed they had as much talent as UNC, UK and others but they have had plenty of NBA talent. another guy that would have been an NBA player if not for injuries was Delvon Roe. there's more to it than just looking at a list. if very few players have made it then maybe Izzo needs to develop players better?
you said it was comparable it's not even close. Many programs have more NBA players than Michigan State, and some like the ones mentioned have/have had far more. And now you're again changing your argument to say he doesn't develop players.
not changing anything. they have had big time talent, that doesn't always mean NBA talent. getting 4 years out of really good college players can be a lot better than 1-2 years out of NBA players
Not sure if Anyone posted this earlier, but pretty intense. http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/12590198/man-1-million-riding-michigan-state-spartans-bet
There's no question the success Izzo has had has come with less talent than Roy at UNC. But with that said, can't penalize Roy as he's the one bringing in the top recruits.
That's crazy.... think about this.... UNLV has 4 active players and zero Final 4's since 1990/91 Wake Forest has 6 players.... and they suck.
that is crazy. The Big Ten in general also does not churn out many NBA prospects. Here's the Big Ten by school: Michigan 8 Michigan State 6 Illinois 2 Wisconsin 3 Indiana 4 Purdue 3 Penn State 1 Maryland 3 Iowa 1 Ohio State 4 Minnesota 1 37 players total. ACC and SEC get a lot more big time prospects who then turn out to be lottery picks and NBA players.
Marshall is staying at Wichita State, signing a new 7 year deal. Rumblings are there are only a few jobs he'd leave Wichita for and one of them is Carolina. timing may work out. I expect Roy to be around another 6 years or so.
it's only been the last few years when michigan has had a lot of talent. the trey burke team had a lot of high end prospects. Most talented Michigan team since the Fab Five. two sons of nba players on one team
I know! But I love lamb too--my favorite preparation is baby loin lamb chops from New Zealand, slathered with extra virgin olive oil, fresh rosemary, cracked pepper and cracked sea salt and grilled to a crispy medium rare. _
