^^^ This. That belligerent, bastardized bi-product of a booty call Byfuglian better be banished for 2-3 games. When Sam Rosen lets his temper get the better of him (after Byfuglian gooned it up on Zuccarello at the end) that pretty much says it all. Kreider's game-winning goal was awesome (nice pass by Miller), burying both himself and the biscuit.
I like Dustin Byfuglien, but he could have seriously injured that kid...he was laying on the ice defenseless, this is why nobody respects hockey...good win by the way, Hank rebounded from 2 soft goals...WTF is wrong with McD, he was garbage last night
Joe, Kreider almost has that same chance at least once every game, he has to bury more Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord · 10h 10 hours ago Girardi, surprised when told he had been credited with 10 blocked shots
Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord · 10 hrs10 hours ago AV adds Byfuglien could have broken Miller's neck Andrew Gross@AGrossRecord10h10 hours ago AV no holds barred on Byfuglien's unpenalized cross check on Miller (Broadway Hat, BTW): "Violent, deliberate."
I will admit that I know fuck all about hockey, but I don't understand why it is legal for a forward to essentially charge the goalie. I think that shouldn't be allowed. You shouldn't get to run over the goalie just because you have the puck. Just my $.02.
You're right you don't know about hockey...just kidding, that really wasn't anything that play, he finished his move and crashed the net barely hitting the goalie
He rushes him at full speed and ends up basically carrying the puck into the net with him. You're not going to like it when you lose your own goalie on a play like that.
I agree you shouldn't be allowed to barrel into the goalie a la Marshawn Lynch from the 1-yard line (and you would be called for an interference penalty and have the goal disallowed). That said, my (admittedly Ranger-centric) take: in the case of last night, Kreider beat two opposing defensemen and was bearing down on the goalie. As Kreider approached the goal, at the last second he veered to his right ('deaked' to his backhand side) which caused the goalie to sprawl out towards him in an attempt to cut him off at the corner of the goal but was late in doing so. While it might've looked like a head-on collision it actually was not. And while hindsight's 20/20 imho the goalie might've been better served proactively extending his stick and attempting to poke the puck off Kreider's stick vs. trying to match Kreider's weaving deak move.....the goalie simply couldn't get over in time and Krieder crashed into the net with at best a glancing brush of the goalie while scoring. While Kreider looked rediculous sitting in the net like a baby in a hammock, he didn't charge the goalie per se and send him sprawling. Again jmho.
Nope. Quite the contrary. But seriously, don't mind me. I really don't know jack about hockey. Only been to Canada a couple of times in fact.
haha I've never been to Canada. I hear alot of chicks are huge fans of hockey. Any girl that loves sports in good in my eyes
Well for obvious reasons you can't ram the goalie, but that's not what happened here. Kreider blew by the defenseman and to do that you have to come in at full speed. The guy is a freight train but unless he gets tripped up he has full control of his motion and he went right and avoided the goalie. If he knocked him down it would have been a suspension, but that's not what happened here
Watch an old video of Bill Clement snapping his leg in 1/2, and you would understand why they changed it
