Please stop telling people what they should do and how they should think. I don't like Sanchez. I think he sucks. He's a significant part of recent Jets history,. If it fits in a post I'll put it there. You can comment all you want to. But stop telling me or anyone what they should or shouldn't do!

I don't care who believes it, that is typical fan thinking. some of us understand the game better than that. That's not to say he was great or anything like that but he was mostly good for us and vital to both title game runs. It amazes me how Mark gets nothing but crap yet we can idolize former QBs who never won a playoff game w/ more talented teams. if you think making 2 title games was a waste I can't help you. this is why our fanbase does not deserve a winner.

He played ok but basically went along for the ride (in those playoff games) and I'm tired of hearing about it. What did he do after that. You have a right to your opinion. I'm not telling you what to say or not to say.
the D was the primary reason we made those runs but even truly great Ds(which we did NOT have) need quality QB play to win. he was really good in postseason and we don't make either w/o him playing like he did. I am not asking for a statue but why do we need to bash the guy over and over again?
Because that is what some people live to do. Sanchez has never been outplayed in the post season by the opposing QB with the possible exception of Big Ben. He's outplayed Manning, Brady, Rivers. At some point, Jets fans will stop laying ALL the troubles on offense on the QB and start looking at the surrounding cast. Oh wait, there's the need to bash QBs, which never seems to go away...
I do understand he had bad games and moments but why do we always need a scapegoat? I think down the line he will get more respect than now just like Ken O'Brien is beloved on here when he was hated when he was playing.
This is the third year in a row that Sanchez will not be the starting QB for the Jets. Why do people constantly bring him up like we let a hall of famer go. He had a nice fun run for us as the Jets QB. Best run I've ever seen as a Jet fan. But he is gone now. Never going to be back. Lets stick to slamming our current QB, which is the entire point of the thread.
Exactly. We need to beat Geno senseless, just like we did Sanchez. Then we can sign more veterans to assure mediocrity. Gotta love the tug of war between those who would like to see us develop a QB and those who don't. Interesting that many of the same guys screaming about how bad Geno sucks also want us to take Mariota. Draft/Suck/Billboard/Repeat
I just don't really understand the need to hate. If someone isn't that good, oh well. But, of course, was it really Sanchez? Or was it an OL that was degraded over his last two years? Was it Sanchez or was it the lack of credible targets to throw to? I'm just amazed that posters think a QB can make others around him significantly better. I understand the confidence factor: you play better for a guy you believe in. But that can't change a Brian Winters into a probowler. Having confidence in a QB can't turn David Nelson into Al Toon. During Sanchez's tenure, the Jets experienced a significant talent degradation, both on the OL and at the receiver positions. That never seemed to be acknowledged by any of the QB haters. Sure, he missed an open receiver. A lot probably goes into that: lack of time to throw, a receiver cutting off a route yards before he's supposed to. It's not like Sanchez was playing for the 49ers of Joe Montana vintage. He's was playing for the Jets, where continuity of talent and, heck talent acquisition, was pretty limited. I mean, seriously, the Jets haven't drafted an above average OL since Nick Mangold. And when's the last time they drafted an above average receiver (not counting Amaro last year for whom the jury is not fully in)? Almost all of the Jets quality offensive players were acquired via free agency. That's a major shortfall of talent the QB has to deal with. And talent is what wins in the NFL. The Jets were an old, slow, unathletic, broke down offensive team for the last few years, the OL and WR spots especially. And the QB bashers use this well flawed methodology for judging QBs: I don't like him, therefore he sucks, and I'm going to list every negative stat he has and ignore every other stat that doesn't fit with my assessment.
