Alex Smith had one of the greatest games in playoff history a week earlier and Alex gave his team a chance to win that NFC Championship game. Is it his fault his PR muffed/fumbled 2 PRs to set up NYG's only scores of 2nd half/OT? is it his fault refs blew fumble call on Bradshaw which would have set SF deep in NYG territory needing only FG to win? you think that's like what Schaub did?

so where are the playoff games he helped his teams win?

#s alone tell us part of the story. this is what the average fan fails to grasp. Houston had very talented teams for many years, only made 2 postseasons and one in which Schaub got hurt and his rookie backup played better in his 2 postseason games than the vet schaub a year later.

that "context" wasn't even necessary here though. Look at the QBs on the roster! none of them could put up those types of numbers in any context. So the point is Schaub is an upgrade. There is no need to add your silly biased qualifiers... especially one as stupid as referring to the quality of the division

Schaub when he was a #s guy may have been an upgrade, the schaub of the last few years would not be an upgrade.

it boggles my mind how people just look at #s w/o context.

he's been a starter for 9 years in nothing but easy divisions. and made it to 3 playoff games where he's 1-2. The rest is just excuses or #s from an average fan like you who is beneath me in every single way. I am God.

You're talking about fucking playoff wins. Geno Smith is our starter as of today. Let that sink in.

Doesn't make schaub a good player or worth signing at this point.

Jets fans really need to stop saying geno sucks so why not to literally every qb in the nfl

Just bc geno has a 57 madden rating doesn't make schaubs 58 rating worth while

Geno Smith = some dynamic plays, lots of turnovers, low completion percentage
Ryan Fitzpatrick= very few dynamic plays, fewer turnovers, high completion percentage
Matt Schaub= some dynamic plays, lots and lots of turnovers, high completion percentage

    Choose your poison

I'll take option 2 since we have pass catching playmakers

I must have missed all the excellent play from Schaub in recent years.

I am NOT pumping up Geno and I have no issue to bring in Schaub as a training camp arm but to think we'd be better w/ Schaub is crazy.

since his career was turned around he led 2 different franchises to postseasons and in his 3 playoff games led his O's to 32.3 PPG, thrown 9 TDs to ZERO INTs, led O to 30.5 PPG in playoff losses.

if you spent less time attacking me and more time paying attention you may be able to discuss this stuff intelligently some day.

Yea I'm going all madden because I want to release Matt fucking Simms and pickup a QB who has proven he can get it done in the NFL. C'mon with the madden bullshit.

BTW, Schaub is a 77 overall in madden.

what has he really proven? that w/ elite weapons he can put up nice #s but disappear in big games? and that is when he was a decent QB- those days are LONG gone.

So then stop comparing schaub to geno if he's qb3

Why release a younger qb for a washed up done qb if we're talking qb 3?

Matt schaub is and has been toast for 2 seasons my friend. He's history. We have fitz on the roster already. Why add a schaub who at this point presents no upside.

If your answer is bc geno sucks that's not an answer.

Would much rather draft a qb late then waste a spot on this bum

LONG gone. The Texans shipped him out w no replacement and he couldn't beat out a rookie.

The guy is toast. He's been on the decline for 2 years and is a step away from retirement.

Geno sucks isn't an answer? OK.

We don't have an obvious answer for starting QB on the roster. Simms is probably the worst of the bunch. Cut him, add a guy who has proven he can play at a much higher level the Geno, who sucks.

    Did I mention Geno sucks?

He's a "has been" but all we have are a "never was" (fitzpatrick) and a "definitely not" (geno smith)

So your logic is to add a has been to the never was and def not qb room.

    Got it.

Geno sucking will not make schaub suddenly be younger and able to play as the guy who used to play at a much higher level.
