Mariota can't make the all throws....his accuracy on deep passes is extremely suspect....I wouldn't waste a first rounder on him.....the jets cannot afford to miss on a third qb in six years....can't do it.....if the Eagles hadn't made the foles deal I would've done that deal in a second.
I'd rather have Mike Glennon and keep our first three picks then gamble again on another first round bust qb
Yeah I know nothing about qbs.....let's see I know that foles was 27-2 two years ago and had his team 8-3 before breaking his collar bone.....the guy can read defenses and make all the throws....your boy mariota plays in gimmick offense and when he had to play a real defense like Ohio state he was exposed like a stripper doing her dance ....furthermore his pro day sucked.....he does not throw a good deep ball nor is he accurate throwing it......also can you name the last qb from college who played in a spread offense and was a franchise qb......jets have been burned twice by garbage qbs....unless mariota is an andrew luck type sure fire can't miss....then pass on him and draft Beasley, Gregory and one of the wide receivers.
If Mariota is Alex Smith then sign me up. Alex Smith suffered from not having consistent coaching around him. Harbaugh and Reid have proven what he can do even if he hates throwing past 5 yards or to his WRs. Either way Mariota is that but better, faster, stronger arm, etc......
agree, his ceiling is more like Russel Wilson in Kaep's frame.. it's best case scenario of course, but that is an excellent best case. one worth taking a shot on imo..
Right, no surprise. That was a Rex joint. I was hopeful for SUNY-Farmingdale, but that didn't seem likely. Maybe next year
I doubt they will ever have it anywhere else besides Florham Park again. More and more teams are just having it at their home facilities. (Outside of a practice or two for fans- I'm talking long term camp) The players like it way more, it's more economical for the organization, the facilities now are way better so it's better at home, and the owners who are investing top dollar in these state of the art facilities would prefer the team actually use them. The mindset that you need to travel for camp to "bond" or whatever is becoming outdated as well. The only teams that will still do it into the future are those trying to generate fans in a certain area.
Your prolly right. I'm hoping Woody keeps the L.I. connection tho. More than just one night at Hofstra. He seems to be a little sensitive to criticism, and him leaving is still something that hurt a lot of people. I used to practically never miss a day of camp at Hofstra
it sucked to leave Hofstra for the LI fans but it made sense. should have happened many years earlier.
In the likely end we don't get mariota.....and geno craps the bed again (assuming we don't get a mike glennon) do we go after Nick Foles next offseason??
