Houston thought he was and he was when Atlanta traded him and he has a lifetime 64% completion ration which is better than Smith or Sanchez..I guess anything would be an improvement over them.

Yeah, I guess if there are no guarantees it wouldn't hurt.

Bring back Chad. My dream involves Pennington announcing a comeback and signing with the Jets with a fully healthy shoulder.

fantasy stats impress some I guess. Played on some really talented Houston teams and could only manage to beat Cincy at home in postseason.

Mac doesn't have any grand notions that Mariota will be there. We are ground zero for future Arena league retreads.

This desperate qb search is such and indictment on how bad the staff believes geno is.

Schaub was good until he threw what seemed to be 80 consecutive pick 6s and Texans fans literally started threatening to kill him.

Giving the choices I would take anyone over Geno. I just love how the Geno fans will bash any other qb brought in with yuck and I would do xxx. Giving the choices unless it is the duck or another young qb there are not allot of choices.

I cant wait for someone to bring up the last game of the season as a sign of growth ignoring the other perfect game against the bills or while criticizing Shaub forget all the pick sixes Geno threw or the horrible games he has had.

I have seen enough to know Geno may take years to develop into a nfl back up never mind a starter. the kid has all the physical tools attached to the mind of a 5 yr old.

I'd like to see Simms get his shot. He comes from good bloodlines. If he's never been given a real chance to play then how does he suck. Now if you say it about Geno after 29 starts. You get no fucking argument.

Because Simms played in college and sucked. He has been given chances in practice and preseason games. As bad as Sanchez was and Geno is, and even as dumb as Rex is, don't you think that they would have played Simms if he could have done anything at all? Come on, guy. You're smarter than this. Suggesting Simms is an absolute effing joke.

I was told Ryan Leaf was actually HoF quality good - before his first season with Chargers started.

So you're saying you're willing to name Matt Simms our starting qb bc of his last name?

No, but I'm not going to say he can't play when he hasn't played. Obviously the decisions to go back to back with terrible Qbs weren't good ones.

Schaub is still a shitload better than any QB we've had in the last 6 years.

There is a reason he hasnt been given a chance to play. He's not very good. He hasn't stood out in practice or anything to warrant the old regime being high on him. This regime probably isnt in love with him either judging by the way they've been looking at other QB's.

How do you know? He has zero starts and Geno has 29. And Mark had over 60. So he's unproven. And obviously the Jets have done a bad job with the Qb position. So to say he can't play when he hasn't played doesn't wash. He's been typecast as a third stringer. So was Kurt Warner until he got his chance.

Wasn't Mark Sanchez's first game ever a victory over Door Matt Schaub?

The more I think about it esp with the Fitz injury bringing in Schaub to see if he can still play isn't a bad idea. If you subscribe to the idea that you can win with a good defense and a game manager at QB. You really can't count his time with the Raiders because they're totally dysfunctional. But he'll probably end up back with the Falcons.
