    1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Winston
    2. Tennessee Titans – Williams
    3. Jacksonville Jaguars – Fowler
    4. Oakland Raiders – Amari Cooper
    5. Washington Redskins – Vic Beasley

    Round 1 - Marcus Mariota - QB
Explantion - As much as I am not sold on Mariota [which is well known], Mariota is the BPA @ 6 for the Jets and also fits a need. My formula for picking players is to never pick strickly on BPA. I would say 80% BPA 20% need. Fowler and Cooper IMO are on higher on Jets draft board. Mariota redshirts and gets ready to start his 2nd yr in the league. Hopefully he proves me wrong, if not you'll be hearing from me.

We never seem to get the player I REALLY want in RD1 so this compared to my mock last yr, I had a different approach. Draft is such a crap-shoot.

    Round 2 - AJ Cann - OG
Explanation - Sound technique, brute strength, AJ Cann is an excellent fit to help stop Suh and those ugly defensive lineman in the AFC East. Will start at LG for the next 10 seasons. I was interested in getting Shaq Thompson here, but we need to protect the QBs we have now and going forward.

    Round 3 - Paul Dawson - ILB
Explanation - Not all that sold on D.Davis and Harris is getting up there in age. Dawson has pursuit skills, coverage ability and a sound tackler. Solid coaching from TCU. Jets can no longer ignore the linebacker position.

    Round 4 - Jeremy Langford - RB
Explanation - One of the more underrated backs in college football. I was a huge fan of watching MSU Football this season and I am a big fan of consistency. Langford is just that. He's not flashy and not super fast, but honestly I don't give a shit. He can run between tackles, break tackles, pass-protect, catch the ball out of the backfield. Oh and he protects the football.

    Round 5 - Marshall Trade
    Round 6 - Harvin Trade

    Round 7 - Jordan Taylor - WR
Project receiver w/ nice size and can play ST

    Round 7 - Kyle Loomis - P
    Just because.

    Thoughts?

I've been with you from the beginning with regards to Mariota, but I also wouldnt mind if the Jets took him.

Love this draft. I think I prefer Tomlinson as a G, but Cann is a great consolation. Dawson will be a great player.

I'm sort of wishy washy on Mariota. Wouldn't be terribly happy or upset if we got him at 6th. That being said: I just don't think he's there. Either he goes to the Titans, Redskins or a team that trades ahead of us because they know we are likely going to pick him. But if the top 5 went the way you indicated here then Mariota seems like the logical pick.

In regards to the rest I honestly don't know enough about the individual prospects but I like the approach from a need perspective.

Tomlinson, I like also a lot. You can't go wrong with either. I think Cann is a better run blocker, but I do believe Tomlinson has an edge in pass-protection. Cann is stronger, Tomlinson is more agile. I had a tough time making a decision between the two.

I don't think Mariota is a fit for TN and what they try and do on offense. Mariota isn't a strong armed QB that you want running an offense that looks to use the deep ball. Redskins, highly doubt they trade with the Eagles to move up. I'm hoping for no trades at all in the top 6.

Whether or not someone trades up for him Mariota is likely to be gone by pick # 6.

Dawson and Langford may not fall all that far either.

Good job. I like this draft, as you might have figured. I could definitely live with it. You use sound reasoning for your top choices. Of course, that's mostly because the Jets get Mariota.. Cann would be a solid addition, but I also prefer Tomlinson, as agility can't be improved all that much, but strength can. I like Dawson but his lack of speed scares me. Harris has always been slow, and I think the Jets need speed in the middle of their D. I'm not sold on Demario Davis either, but at this point, I think they'd be better off waiting until next year to address the ILB position. I'd rather not take Dawson, but could live with him. Langford's a good back, but there are others I like better. I don't know anything about Taylor or Loomis so can't comment on them.

Don't get your assessment of Langford. He is super fast and can run straight through holes but that's it.

If someone trades up, he'll be gone. If no one trades up, he'll be there.

Dawson, I think has a pretty good chance to be there in the 3rd. Kendricks, McKinnley, Perryman, and Dawson are all log jammed. I think only 1 ILB goes in the first round. Looking at the other positions available, I think Dawson slides slightly, he didn't have a great combine.

Langford, too many good RBs in this draft - teams will look for explosive backs and Langford has been very much under the radar all off-season.

I think these guys have a chance to be available in their respective rounds.

Cann vs Tomlinson was a tough one for me. I had to take into consideration who had more upside so I went with Cann - I think w/ good coaching Cann will be a better player down the road, he still has the ability to start right away. Dawson has excellent instincts, I enjoyed watching the TCU defense, he always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. This time next season, I hope we are still looking to build the offense line so we may not be able to get a good linebacker in the first round nxt yr.

Not as fast as the other RBs IMO - Gordon, Gurley, and Duke Johnson are all faster with pads on. Don't let the 40 yard dash fool you. I also think, he can break tackles but lacks the elusiveness / speed of the other RBs. Excellent vision as a RB.

I think Tomlinson has more upside. Cann is not going to be able to improve his agility to any appreciable extent. Tomlinson can easily get stronger. I don't think there's a huge difference between the two, but like Tomlinson better.

I agree that Dawson has excellent instincts, but that will only take you so far. They were enough in college, but will they be enough in the NFL? Will speed beat his instincts? I think his instincts are probably not going to be enough long term for him. He will be another David Harris. While that's been good for the Jets, it could have been a lot better. I just think the Jets need someone quicker, faster and better coverage ability to replace Harris. I don't want another slow player at ILB.

I think the Jets need speed at the RB position. Ivory is more power, Powell is more like Langford, solid dependable, but not really a power or speed back. Thus, I don't think Langford would ultimimately be the best choice at RB for the Jets. He would be solid and I wouldn't have the pick, but I think there are better RBs that would fit the Jets better.

To that end, I'd rather the Jets take a RB in the 3rd, then take a blocking TE, ILB, OLB, WR or whatever in the 4th.

Ah ok. His side to side agility is awful, that's the reason why I don't like him.

    Decent mock

I don't think Mariota will fall to us as much as I like him and want him.. I just don't think we are that lucky and I think the Titans are taking him.

Yeah, I think the discussion in regards to the G position, you can't go wrong with either of those guys. Both can improve and be solid starters.

In regards to Dawson, I don't think having top-end speed is needed if you know where you need to be on the field. I go back to Chris Borland who recently retired this off-season due to concussions - a player I liked last season during the draft. Slow at the combine w/ 4.83, but has the instincts to be in the right spot at the right time. Also, if the Jets stay in a 3-4, we will need another linebacker down the road inside so another speed linebacker maybe in order down the road. We will need to continue collecting linebackers and young talent. Dawson, I think has the potential to be a really good linebacker.

I think Langford is able to spell for Ivory and you can argue is the best pass-protector in the draft. I agree in regards to his speed. I don't know if you can find a better all around back that late in the draft. That's where I value Langford. The question is also, can Ivory stay healthy? If he gets hurt, who will be the work-horse? It ain't Powell, it could be Langford. I would really like to get Duke Johnson, but I think we need to address other positions.

We already have a blocking TE, and in regards to the WR position - Phillip Dorsett, and Tyler Lockett are the end of the line for me in regards to wide receivers in this draft. They will more than likely be gone by the time we pick in the 3rd round. All of the good receivers will be gone by the time we pick in the 4th.

That can be a cause of concern. A lot of scouts compare Langford to a guy I think we both liked at one point as a FA and that was Pierre Thomas.

Powell is a proven back. If Ivory were to get injured, I'd certainly turn to Powell before I would Langford, unless Langford had really impressed in TC.

Just because Kellen Davis was signed, doesn't mean that he's gonna stick. He's had problems staying healthy and hasn't done much the last couple of years. He might not even make it out of TC. I sure wouldn't let that prevent me from drafting a blocking TE. IMO we don't "have" to get a WR out of this draft. I'd love to add Dorsett or Lockett, but if we don't, it's not the end of the world. Dorsett will probably go in the 2nd. Unless they trade down, the top of the 3rd is probably too high to take Lockett. Most of our needs have been addressed in FA. The only glaring needs are QB, OG, OLB, LT and depth at RB. Your draft would meet two of the biggest needs in the first two rounds and meet BPA as well. In the 3rd and 4th round, I don't think it matters horribly what the Jets do. It would be good to add a speedy RB, and imo that would be a higher priority than WR. It would be more important imo to add an OLB or LT prospect. If Ogbuehe is there in the 3rd I'd probably grab him, if not, I'd go BAP. I would take BAP in the 4th regardless of what position.

If MM is available at # 6, it's a no brainer. I believe if the Jets stay at #6 they will miss out on the QB. IMO, the BPA at #6 will either be White or Cooper. As I predicted a few weeks ago, these pass rushers are overvalued (Ray & Beasley) in the Jet's range and mocks and scouts opinions are starting to reflect this.

AJ Cann is a solid player, I rather have a true OT, but I understand the OG position is stronger in Rd 2. Very bad year for the OT in this draft.

The Jets need to add speed and playmaking ability in all positions.

I like everything after #1. I'm hoping Tennessee take Mariota and we can get some other player. I like the punter pick @7 because we have not had a even a good punter since Dave Jenning. Many others have been better after they left the Jets like Louie Aguilar.

The problem with Powell is that he's not going to be sustain 20 carries a game if Ivory is out. Jets will need someone else to help carry the load and that's where Langford comes in.

My last 2 picks, I would def consider a blocking TE too, but I think this is best acquire via FA for more competition. I will be bummed if the Jets couldn't find a contributor at WR these last 2 drafts- that's where this is going typical Jets fashion. 2 of the deepest classes in sometime. Dorsett and more than likely Lockett will be gone by round 4 barring any trades. It's going to take a few drafts to replenish depth and talent - I think G is in for a big upgrade as we have Suh and those guys in BUF. All goes well this coming season, tackle and other positions take most priority first.

Ogbuehi's stock has dropped like a fly, he was also a failure at the LT position.

Redskins need a pass-rusher, I don't see them passing on a guy here. Absolutely 100% do not see them trading w/ the Eagles. Rusher may be overvalued, but some teams tend to overvalue players in the draft.

OT will be the focus of 2016.

It will be tough to find a good play-makers after the 3rd round in my opinion ... tackle will need to be a priority in 2016 ... Brick is good for another year at least. Breno, I don't like at all - but we paid him and we will need him to improve.

How do you know that Powell isn't going to be able to sustain 20 carries a game? You don't, so to say that he isn't is absurd. I'm not disputing that we need another RB that can tote the rock, I just think we need a faster, better one than Langford. I guess it will come down to whether Mac is strictly a BAP type GM, or if he takes need into consideration.

I agree that this is another great WR draft, the Jets shouldn't miss out for the 2nd straight year, and I would be bummed, if not ticked if they bypassed the position in the draft again. I've seen where Dorsett could go in the 2nd round. If I'm Mac, I might grab Dorsett in the 2nd and certainly would in the 3rd if he's still there. IMO grabbing another project/developmental WR is about the same as not drafting one. We already have 4-5 of those types on the roster. If the Jets are going to take a WR in this draft, then I think it has to be in round 1 or 2. If so, they may have to settle for a lesser OG or a lesser RB, if indeed they are targeting those positions. If Mac is gonna go by BAP, then all bets are off as to what positions might be drafted.

I would be perfectly fine if Davis worked out as the blocking TE or if Mac signed a camp cut to fill that role.

With all the Jets' critical needs, it IS going to take several drafts before I think the team is truly competitive and ready to challenge for the Lombardi Trophy. That's why I think it so absurd for fans to be talking about trading for Brees or Rivers. This team isn't ready to go "all in." There are going to be a lot of tough decisions for Mac...does he take Mariota, if he's there, and perhaps eschew taking a stud pass rusher or WR? Conversely, does he eschew taking a potential franchise QB, to get that stud pass rusher or WR? Or does he trade down and take Brick's replacement? Then in round 2 does he go BAP, or look to get the guard to shore up the OL, or get that speedy RB or a WR like Dorsett or Jalen Strong? The same goes for subsequent rounds. He is on record as having said that FA is for filling needs and the draft is for BAP. Needs and BAP will certainly line up in the 1st round and quite possibly in the 2nd round as well. I'm much less sure that they will in the 3rd and 4th rounds. It's going to be interesting. One thing I'm certain and positive about...the team is going to be a lot more talented, have better depth, and Bowles should have them playing at a pretty high level.

As for Ogbuehi. I don't really know that much about him. I've just seen that several posters here like him a lot, and have seen that he's fairly highly rated as a LT prospect on the draft sites. I haven't had time to see film on him. I don't believe the Jets can afford to wait until the 2016 draft to address the LT spot, however. If they do, I think that will be a colossal mistake. This may not be the best draft for a LT, but with the way Brick's play has been declining, and with his being due $17 million next season, there's no way I want him playing LT next season unless he takes a HUGE pay cut, and I just don't see that happening. You don't want a raw rookie starting at LT if you can help it. As much as I want Mariota, if I were the GM and really liked one of the LT prospects, I'd have to STRONGLY consider trading down to get that LT in the first round rather than taking Mariota. I'd certainly do that if I could over taking a WR or OLB. The position is that important, and one thing is for certain...the Jets aren't going to find their next LT in FA. I expect the Jets to finish somewhere around 8-8 or 9-7, thus I don't think they'll be in any position to get one of the top LTs next season. This is where Tanny and Idzik have really screwed this team. They ignored too many critical positions on this team and wasted a slew of draft picks on bad prospects. It's absurd that Mac is having to find a QB, a pass rusher, an LT, 2 OGs, a FS, a quality WR, another TE, a fast RB, and had to get 3 new CBs. Tanny, Rex and Idzik should get ZERO respect or love imo from Jets fans. They royally fucked this franchise and us over with their incompetence.

Because Powell has never proven that and I don't think he will prove that today. Jets need another running back period. I would love a guy with speed also, but that's not happening. You want a faster back and that's fine, I want an all around back - I think Langford is a very good back with good vision. I think also, we could look at other RBs, but I think Langford has a really good set of skills.

My Mock doesn't put in trades into effect. If it did, more than likely I would look to trade down in round 1 all together. Jets are going to need upgrades at several positions. As you can see I am very worried about the interior offensive line and it needs an absolute upgrade ASAP. We won't be able to get the ball to our play-makers if you see Colon / Winters out there going against Suh and those guys in Buffalo. I truly believe if we don't upgrade that G position, we could be in for a long season. It won't matter who is under center because getting interior pressure on the QB, is the ABSOLUTE WORST type of pressure you can generate on a QB.
