RB Round 2

Bowles wants to take shots downfield. I read that statement on two separate occasions from him. Kerley is not a downfield guy. Olus you have to run multiple receiver sets with credible threats.

 

I honestly don't think the Jets have to take a running back in round 2... running backs such as David Cobb, David Johnson, TJ Yeldon, and Mike Davis will all most likely be available in round three or four. If the Jets were to take running back in the second round, I'd personally like Duke Johnson... he has vision issues, but other than that I don't see many weaknesses in his game.

 

I agree. I think Mac knows this is currently a hole, but it is one that can be filled with a third round pick (and a rookie contract.)

That is why I think the McCoy deal will be proven to be a bad move. I'm not saying we can easily find a Shady in the third round, but giving up a talented defensive player, and a large chunk of your cap space when that position can be filled much cheaper, does not make sense.

 

Who said anything about a Bilal Powell type? Not me.

With so much depth at RB I can imagine us snagging a great RB in 3rd, either Duke Johnson or Jay Ajayi. I think in 2nd we can address OL or LB(Perryman) and go for Rb in 3rd ans still snag a great guy

 

i dont think it is ever smart to draft a RB before round 5. To me it is the least valuable position next to punter. i even would put more emphasis on place kicker.

RB just isnt as big a need in the league today and they are a dime a dozen, more a product of the line and offense, and have a short shelf life. go grab one of the million cast offs like ridley or something or take a flyer on a guy in the 5-7th round or even go the undrafted route.

If we went HB in round 2 id be pretty upset.

 

i dont think you can count on any of decker/marhsall/kerley to remain healthy, so i count that group as 2 and not 3 WRs. i think we need to add one in FA or the draft for sure

I agree 100%, his stock is rising. I wouldn't hesitate drafting Dorsett in Rd 2, we need some speed on this team. If we ever made a trade for Cleveland for their 2 1st rd picks, I would draft Dorsett with Cleveland's 19th pick, that's how highly I believe in this Kid.

If we traded back with CLE and got both of their 1s, I'd use the second of the 1s on Gordon.

I know RB in the 1st isn't trendy anymore, but you can't put a value on playmakers.

I'm curious why. I know he's pretty good. I've seen him play several times, but never thought him anything that special. Supposedly, he has vision problems, and that's one of the most important aspects for a RB. What have I missed?

 

I think he has good vision. I think he likes to take it to the outside a little more then he should, but that's college. He's a guy that can catch the ball out of the back-field, he's a home run hitter this offense needs.

Can't pass-protect for shit though, I think that can improve at the next level. He's great value in round 3.

 

Doubt he's available at the time, but if Gurley was there at 38th I'd sprint to the podium.

 

Gurley looked great last year. But it could be argued Gurley wasn't even the best RB on his own team in 2014, that the freshman phenom Chubb was an upgrade.

It doesn't matter if Chubb is the next Curtis Martin, Gurley is the best RB in THIS draft.
