translation: "We're not intersted in drafting Mariota, but we are interested in trading out of #2. We'd also like someone to trade ahead of us to #1 to take Mariota so we can take Winston at #2." silly season.
Washington will take him at 5 for sure unless they trade that pick to somebody else who takes him there. No way in the word he falls to us at 6.
It's possible Ken might just be speaking the truth. He probably has concluded that Wintson goes to Tampa. Sitting at 2, no one is going to get Mariota before he gets his shot. Oh well...
This should be no surprise to anyone. I've been saying for months Jameis and Marcus are going 1-2. Its a QB league, both teams need QBs and those two guys are the only good prospects this year
I get this is "silly season" but that doesn't mean he wouldn't draft Mariota 2nd overall. Even if people are saying he's lying it's clearly to build a market for someone to trade up and take Mariota with the 2nd overall pick. I just hope it isn't us.
Yeah i never wanted Mariota I'm glad it looks like the Jets don't want him either, just build the team ala Seahawks, 49ers, hmm we do have a former cardinals coach don't we. Mac won games late in his tenure in HOU too, Texans had good defenses and good running games.
But in spite of that great defense and rushing attack they always underachieved, because their QB always sucked.
Smith does suck but there's no way to know if Mariota will be any better and would cost us too much to move up to 2nd overall to grab him. At 6th I was kind of 50/50 on getting him (wouldn't be particularly upset or happy) but if we have to give up additional picks to get him then no way.
Then the Jets will take a possible HOF pass rusher and for the next 2 months people will complain that the Jets should have tanked the end of the season.
I do not pretend to have any unique insight into Mariota, but it does generally seem that a big chunk of those who are more or less not interested in him are imo too fond of Smith. This in itself is not hard to understand, since they tend to see less urgency in replacing Smith. What I do find hard to understand is those who are too fond of Smith.
Your posts are a big chunk. Trying to just categorize people who aren't sold on MM as Geno lovers is so dumb, but that is basically most of your posts. The majority of people who aren't sold on MM are also down on Geno
