Considering what we have on the roster now, almost any QB will "bring something to the table". Certainly any QB worthy of 1st round pick.
I wish he wouldn't talk to the press. Last time he got himself in trouble for potential tampering. Don't say anything. Just smile and go away,
Agreed. To me a big argument could be made that based on overall talent and immediate potential production , Mariota and Winston arent even top 10 players in this draft. And considering a lot of people think this draft is fairly average overall , its says something.
Hmmn tough decision. A possible bust with Mariota (with more upside than Geno had) or a known turnover machine named Geno who is very close to being a bust many of our fans feel he already is. Decisions, decisions...
Johnson't comments should make anyone think the Jets are all in on Mariota. Unfortunately the rest of the league will read them that way too.
Remember how all the dumb kids in grade school used to sit together at lunch and stick up for each other? Yeah, that. _
Are you disputing his comment that Geno is ahead of Mariota at this point or are you just being sarcastic? It's basic understanding of the NFL game and experience with the speed that puts Geno ahead, doesn't mean he is a better QB in the future it's just truth. Are you just going to agenda every topic that has the name Mariota in it?
Let's get this straight whether we draft Mariota or not: he's better than Geno. If he puts up worst stats after two seasons than I'll eat my words. But it would be pretty hard to do that.
If Mariota ran a more NFL style offense in college, (you know, taking the ball from under center more than 5 times in his career, using this thing called a huddle, playing with a TE, etc) I would say yes, even if he was not Andrew Luck good.
Whoa whoa whoa pump your brakes. Geno is OBVIOULSY ahead of Mariota right now. He's been in the NFL for over 2 years, he'd BETTER be ahead of a QB just a few months out of college that's never set foot in an NFL facility as part of a team. I was making an observation about a supremely intelligent individual supporting another supremely intelligent individual. Ok, that part was sarcastic. It's a stupid article that's not newsworthy. _
If the Jets aren't sold on a particular prospect, I am perfectly fine building the team, and waiting for a QB in the next draft or so. Again, not taking one just to take one.
I don't care what he ran in college. He is better prospect now than Geno was 2 years ago. Therefore it's an upgrade and all I need to know.
My favorite part is that woody said "believe it or not" when comparing his 3rd year qb to a qb who hasn't taken a single snap on the pro level. 'Believe it or not' is being way overlooked. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's not about needing Leonard Williams. . Leonard Williams is the clear cut best player in the draft, and my point is if QB wasn't such a premium position, both Mariota and Winston would not be going in the top two or three
