If Farve doesn't sign his TV deal maybe we can re-sign him.

    He's still better than Geno...and he's ripped!

since you have nothing you are now going to make stuff up? show me where I said he "sucked"? you probably are confused b/c you aren't reading my posts.

you should give up w/ this weak argument where you are making things up.

if we were an 11 win team coming off a conference championship we wouldn't be in the market for a QB.

    Rivers is 33 not 83.

You only set yourself up for success better with a young player if you get it right.

You set yourself up for failure however, if you sit out the opportunity to make your team better at THE most important position because you worry about silly things like age and play the "what Ifs" game like you do with injuries

What's Kurt Warner up to? In Madden 13, he comes back from retirement and lights it up ;)

    88 overall sign that beast.

I'm making things up?! Lmao I'm not even touching that one

If he's incapable of winning and apparently chokes at the very onset of pressure you are suggesting he's no good. But you'll give up something for this no good qb as long as it's madden like an unrealistic, then will turn around and tell me you don't think he sucks.

My head is spinning so hard it might fall off my shoulders.

Id argue that our supporting cast is better than anything that Rivers has ever had, just need to work on the OLine.

    It's intriguing

If we added ( in a hypothetical situation) Rivers or Brees, we just made a huge jump. What separates a lot of the bad teams from good teams is consistent, quality, QB play. We'd instantly have that in that situation.

Why are all these guys here then if not to win now? Why acquire Marshall? Why bring back Revis and Cromartie? It's not to setup a long term building project so that we can win when these guys are 33-34 and just about at the end.

In a perfect scenario, you take Mariota and he turns into a real good player, then you get the best of both worlds. But my point is that if you arent comfortable with Mariota, you should be looking to upgrade the QB position after bringing in the players you chose to bring in.

you said that I said he sucked, that's making things up and making a pretty important part of it up too.

he's better than Geno/Fitz but are we getting to a SB w/ him? there is nothing to suggest that would happen based on playing w/ more talent in weaker divisions when he was in his prime. Now he has to take a less talented team in a division w/ Tom Brady and he's going to lead us to SBs while we have to give up the 6 pick and a huge chunk of cap space. Makes sense.

I would sooner sign Kurt Warner NOW than I would trade for Rivers.

so why couldn't he help SD make that jump w/ more talented SD teams in a weaker division? SD has had this quality, consistent QB play from Rivers and won a grand total of 4 playoff games(one of which was won after Rivers got hurt)

Warner was great and elevated 2 of the dregs of this league to SBs, Warner is a HOFer(will be). Rivers is a decent QB who puts up nice fantasy #s, he doesn't suck(except in big games) but he's not anywhere near elite either like you guys are pretending he is.

We're not going to agree on this point at all. The Charger teams were talented because they had a guy like Rivers playing QB for them. If they subbed out Rivers for some average player, they instantly take a step back.

Your looking at the team and acting like they would have been as good as they were with or without Rivers QBing for them. Your wrong.

Ok. You are officially back pedaling to a position of no substance. It's cool I'm over it.

Brees is too short to be an NFL QB

Last week it was Brees. This week, it's Rivers. Maybe there's some legs to this sign Favre/Warner talk. Maybe the Jets can sign them both and they can have a QB competition. Maybe they can alternate starts?

Seriously though, if River can be had for this year's first (and he'll sign a contract with the Jets), the trade should happen. He's provide better than average QB play, and having receivers like Marshall, Kerley, and Amaro will only extend his career.

Not from the look of that photo.

I heard he's thinking about a career in show biz.

    What a dick.

Agreed. And at his age he risks getting shorter.

Pass but yes only for the right price aka nothing.
