Leaf wasn't bust proof. There were critics of both Manning and Leaf saying either one could be bust

Fair. My point is for the top qbs in the draft we yammer over yearly. True point is nobody is bust proof. I'd argue even Andrew luck say he went to Washington may not have turned out as good. Right circumstances and right timing for him.

Idk. He went to a pretty bad Colts team and put it all on his back. 2-14 to 10-6 (or was it 11-5?) I think he would've made the same impact either way it goes

He went to a Colts team that found a new void at qb and tanked to shit. He walked into a team built for the pass and a community that embraced him.

Rg3 on the other hand walked into a team w no identity, and a total shitshow that wanted to build an offense around his legs to mask the lack of talent around him
The colts were so in on luck they drafted his college tight end Colby fleener for his own comfort.

    Successful teams do that.

    We drafted Scotty McKnight.

Alright Mr. Know it All, name me one prospect who came into the NFL with a high football IQ, great work ethic, loves the game, has great character, is very talented and athletic, and who had three great years of production and wasn't just a Combine phenom who was a bust.

Didn't people like QBs like Brady Quinn and Brian Brohm coming out of college? Both very good collegiate QBs - you couldn't find 1 negative thing about them. They were victims of why most quarterbacks surprisingly fail at this level. The speed of the game overwhelmed them.

Lol yeah we did...didn't we also sign his high school tight end at some point? In fact we did more than that, didn't we also give him meaningful snaps?

Can't fault us for lack of effort I guess

Former New York Jet, Tim Tebow of course

No one is bust-proof by the way. That's just retarded

    Back to Rivers.

Before you bring in a $20m/yr franchise QB, remember half our team is here because we AREN'T paying a franchise QB at the moment. Can you imagine how different our team would look if this were to happen?

youre joking right... Cleveland offered the 19 pick for bradford... Rivers is worth the 6th pick over all. you do remember we drafted sanchez 5th. Rg3 and jarmarcus russell were taken with the top two picks... Youre delusional if you thinks rivers isnt worth our first rounder. I would take 4-6 years of elite qb play from rivers over a 50-50 crap shoot at best with marcus m.

I don't think Rivers will command a 20 mil per deal. His agent wants one but he'll probably end up with about 15. He's not a 20 mil player.

Yes, some people liked both, but I didn't like either. I never thought either would amount to anything. I don't remember specifics, and I never delved into Brohn that much, but saw enough to not think he was that great a prospect. I did look at Quinn and there were negatives.

Tim Tebow had great stats running the ball, not throwing the ball, and his throwing motion and fundamentals were not good. I thought that he would amount to more than he did, but knew that he had so much success in college because like Cam Newton he was as big or bigger than a lot of the LBers and DBs he faced, respectively. Once he got past the DL on the LOS there were few DBs who were going to bring him down running the ball. I never heard anyone talking about Tebow's football IQ either.

No one is bust proof in the same way that no one is a "sure thing," but there are players who are as close to both extremes as it gets.

BTW using "retarded" is about as stupid and insensitive as one can get. Grow up.
