Unless there is a huge haul to be had by trading down they need to stay and hopefully grab Beasley. If they are also to get Dawson in the 3rd this D can look mighty good.

Gregory looks like a major bust to me. Give me Beasley or fowler.

Fowler is the only one with good size and the only one worth a top 10 pick.

I agree. The only OLB worth taking at 6 is Fowler. If not, take Cooper or White. We will have an elite D with or without Beasley/Gregory/Fowler next season. It's our offense that needs to improve.

Smartest Post, none of these players are a good value at #6.

Impact Players on Defense: Wilkerson, Revis, Richardson, Harrison, Harris, Davis, Couples, Cromartie, Skrine, and Pyror

Impact Players on Offense: Marshall, Decker, Brick, Mangold

Yes lets draft an OLB because we really need to improve our already superior Defense

Coples isn't an impact player, neither is Pryor (as of now).
I find it funny you name a lesser player (Coples) as an impact player but better players (Ivory, and Amaro) aren't listed as impact players

Well, we need an OLB with pass rush skills, our current players, Babin & Pace are fossils and Coples is out of position.

Lol so you name almost every defensive player but name only a handful on offense just because it fits your argument.

Impact Players on Offense: Marshall, Decker, Kerley, Brick, Mangold, Ivory, Powell, and Amaro

And the pick will be BPA, as Mac has already made known. If that's an OLB, then that's the pick

Oh and Pryor and "Couples" (you mean Couples?) are impact players? Lmao

Even if u add Ivory and Amaro, the defense still has more talent. With or without an OLB, we will have a good defense next season. Jets are finally in position to draft a stud WR (something we haven't done in God knows how long). You need impact players on both sides and right now we have don't have much on offense.

The Giants took OBJ last year when they already had Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle. You think they're regretting that right now? Take the WR or even take an Olineman and add some bluechip talent on offense for once

I agree with all this but the amount of depth of pass rushers is just way too many to pass up on. The offensive talent depth in this draft ain't that good neither. White and Cooper could be gone (maybe not both but definitely Cooper could) by time we pick. I would wait until a draft has immense talent on the offensive side. We could pick up a RB (Ameer Abdullah, Jay Ajayi) in the 2nd round or so. Then draft some guards, Aboushi is pretty decent. Just no more Winters, or Colon

look, it really pains me to say it but our defenses have been overrated. i understand in yards per game we are always top 10, but according to defensive DVOA we were 23rd or something. our defense is actually as good as people think (well at least last year, it will be much better this year) but the one piece we miss is a pass rusher. that would take us over the edge, not to mention he'd be cheap cause he's a rookie

For sure. As good as our D is on paper, you can elevate the whole squad by adding a true pass rusher, which is not currently on the roster.

I guess I like Gregory as a blue chip prospect to be the best player of them. Scoring that Derrick Thomas type guy off the edge is what everybody wants, but as a defensive force overall I like Gregory.
Going with White or Cooper and trying to score an edge rusher type guy later would work too. I'm sure Mac has a guy. It's just a matter if that guy is there.

Yeah our D was terrible last year (Looking at you Darrin Walls, Philip Adams, Antonio Allen, etc) mainly just our secondary

I don't remember where I read that, but did you see NFL Live on ESPN recently? Hasselbeck, a former NFL QB, and a couple other analysts were breaking down his game, and it wasn't pretty! They said he locks onto his #1 receiver, makes mistakes when trying to work through progressions, was spoon-fed easy routes for his #1 WR and never really had to read a D like a pro QB, and he fumbles too often with the ball. ....would this guy be any better than Geno?!

Plus, the last 2 first round QB's from Oregon were Joey Harrington and Akili Smith .... yikes!
This guy sounds like a project at best. The only reason he's being considered so high in the draft is he apparently has "NFL tools", and teams are so desperate for franchise QB's that they draft major reaches in the 1st round practically every year.

It would be a HUGE, COLOSSAL mistake if we take Mariota!!!!!!
