You missed Aaron Berry, then. There could be some talent that slipped between the cracks; its very interesting to see if this takes off and becomes a big deal in the future, or just fades away as a glorified tryout. And whats the deal with "Kurihara, Tukashi - WR - no college"?
japanese? wow, thats rare. i thought the closest we'd get to a japanese NFL player was RG3, a man who was born there through his stationed military parents. thats nice to see.
Football will always be dominated by Americans but just like you see a handful of Canadians in the league you'll be seeing Japan doing the same in a few years. These guys always show well at the IFAF tournament
As for the players on this list, Michael Sam is head and shoulders above any guy in this list. Its disgusting that he's not on an NFL roster and needs to go to a veteran combine. I'm also interested to see if any of these RBs still have anything left in their legs.
Two guys I would like to take a flyer on if they perform well. Mike Golic Jr , Position - Center At Notre Dame's pro day, the younger Golic ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 and 4.58 seconds, did a 4.88-second short shuttle and a 7.77-second three-cone drills, posted 31 strength reps, a 28-inch vertical jump and 8-10 broad jump. He’s 6’4” and at 300 lbs he moves pretty quick. No draft grade coming out of college, but we’re talking about a guy that would cost nothing to bring in and little to sign. Came from a good college program and could give us some ESPN love from daddy. Jack Breckner, Position - Tackle From a very small school, with a big heart and bigger body standing 6’9”, 328 lbs and very athletic. He was on the Colts but cut and has been toiling in the Arena and Indoor football leagues.
God I hope that our #6 p ick turns out better than our last... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernon_Gholston#New_York_Jets
I am very curious to see how successful this Veteran Combine is. I wonder how many players, if any, actually get a solid look and even signed after this combine.
im interested to see how the kid out of uconn does. he was a great player early in his college career and ran into some injury issues. stingers and then a knee i think.
But is that true? I didn't watch him up until the pre-season during which he played great. Before that he was the SEC defensive player of the year. I know that that's "just" a college award but you don't just luck into that award you need to have serious talent (consider that since 2004 winners have been drafted in the top half of the 1st round). I know he has flaws but I don't think they're big enough that he can't find a spot on the bottom of a team - hell we had AARON MAYBIN on our 53 for 2 seasons. Before coming out he was a borderline 2nd rounder, after he can't find a spot on a team? IMO it's the Tebow effect where teams don't want bottom of the roster, situational players drawing mass attention
