SJU with no depth, nor size and without their only low post presence and shot-blocking threat is already in deep trouble. A month ago I'd have bet the ranch on St. John's. Not now. This will get ugly and you can hang it on the necks of two people.
ACC 6-0 all but one of Carolina's losses this season were against teams still alive in round of 32. team,s Carolina played in reg season are 13-2 in this tournament, the 2 losses were in games that involved 2 teams that Carolina played. Let's compare that to GU and KU: GU reg season opps: 6-4 KU: 6-5 what does this mean? Nothing if Carolina doesn't win today but computer #s are nice but much like individual player stats they give us part of the story. 'Nova is a legit threat to get to a FF not b/c the BE was good but b/c 'Nova is really good. I think conf's like the BE and B12 were vastly overrated- still good but not best in Country good.
There really isn't anything to say but that the better team won, and this one is going to hurt me for a long, LONG time.
Lets cry together...I got banned from a sju forum for stating my opinion about the team last night. You will be okay Hackett. One thing Nova does right is always be a good team. They will have a serious run one day because of Jay Wright...Maybe even win the big one. See Jim Boehim. One year he won it and it makes it all good...Although I know took him years. St Johns on the other hand is getting ready for basketball siberia in the cellar the next 5 years with no recruits
Virginia in a bit of a fight... there just always seems to be something about Izzo and March. His teams just always seem to be in a position to win every game or make deep runs regardless of what happens in the regular season.
Bad call against Virginia's Atkins. He got a completely clean block as the shot clock expired. Refs call it a foul giving Michigan State two shots and sending Atkins to the bench with four fouls. It also put the Spartans in the bonus.
I think Northern Iowa beats Louisville this is what I think for the final four now: Northern Iowa Kentucky Arizona Gonzaga
