Let's take a look at "Doing what they were supposed to do" from the point of Vegas Point spreads. Here are the point spreads of several games, and the Margin of victory of each: Notre Dame -12 over Northeastern (ND by 4) UNC -9.5 Harvard (UNC by 2) NC State -2 LSU (NC State by 1) Texas -2 Butler (Butler by 8) Xavier -2 Ole Miss (Xavier by 19) GeorgeTown -8 EWU (Georgetown By 10) Villanova -22 Lafayette (Villanova by 41) Big East clearly exceeded expectations.
I won't argue that point. winning is all that matters. I have seen teams squeak by and go on to FF, I have seen teams blow teams out then lose the next game. Each game is a new game, all that matters is winning. I would prefer not to almost blow it but they found a way. when they made that proper call to secure UNC over 'Nova in 2005 they won 3 more games and the title. Just win.
All the previous teasing and ball-busting aside, now that the games are underway, my posts today have been objective and solely observation-based. On the other hand, your nuancing 'good' into varying sub-categories of 'decent' and 'ok' is bordering on picayune absurdity as is your continued, obsessive assault on the Big East. Just be happy with UNC's big, against-all-odds win over Hahvad and leave it at that.
sorry, I didn't realize the ball busting portion of the program was over. The Big East is the greatest conference ever assembled- everyone knows that.
dagger 3 for WVU, allowed shot clock to go all the way down and nailed it. 5 pt lead and Buf just missed so WVU headed to line w/ 20 secs
