I was not a happy man especially after the BS foul to make it a 4 point play. the Heels cannot even get more FTAs than Harvard. It's beyond ridiculous but survive and advance.

It's a 'W,' they get the yips out of their system and they move on. Why UNC didn't relentlessly pound it inside (and when they did, why UNC's bigs often settled for 10-12 ft. jumpers) is beyond me. Meeks, Jackson and Hicks combined to shoot over 50% - all the more reason to do so (in spite of Jackson's off night) and which would've further freed up Marcus Paige who outside 'j' is clicking right now. It's crazy that calls, whether b.s. or otherwise should be in the discussion since UNC was pulling away (21-14) and for whatever reason let up on the pedal. Anyway, a 'W's' a W.

What's the problem with this? You are talking about a Georgetown team that was all fired up from Bulletin board material from idiots like Gottlieb who were saying how they were ripe for an upset because they were playing a road game?

    That was a statement. Period.

What game were you watching? Where was the reach-in on that final foul against Harvard?

The "Overrated" Big East started the tournament 4-0.

a win is a win, I know Iowa State and Baylor would want a 2 pt win and to move on.

I hate talking about calls, it is beyond frustrating though. even against Harvard they can't get to the line when they attack inside consistently and Harvard is in the bonus w/ 12 mins left. It's very frustrating but luckily they held them off.

the one where Hicks went to the line and missed the front end?

the closest matchup was a 6 vs 11. Nice job doing what they were supposed to do.

Roy Williams is now 25-0(I believe) in rd of 64 games. That's a pretty impressive # especially seeing how close they came to losing last night. to be able to avoid the upset in that round every year is pretty amazing. He's had a bunch of 1 seeds but he's had plenty of lower seeds too.

A team that is pissed off for being blatantly disrespected by sports media. Despite having the 2nd toughest schedule in the NCAA, they were "overrated", playing in an "overrated" conference, destined to be upset by an EASTERN WASHINGTON team playing a home game.

I have no issue with that dunk whatsoever. You make it sound like they behaved like Cincinnati and threw a punch or something

that team lost 4 straight openers in the tourney, they deserved to be questioned.

Im sorry, did they have the exact same squad for four years? Did they play this tough a schedule for the past four years? Was their conference this good for the past four years?

They attacked inside, but what they should've done was to work harder on establishing position down lower on the blocks so when they received the entry pass they weren't turning and settling for those 10-12 foot jumpers. It's the Trent Tucker syndrome albeit from a low post perspective: jumpshots alone won't get you to the FT line. Receive the entry pass deeper on the blocks and from there take it to the rim - with UNC's front court talent and physicality the fouls will pile up and they'll be in the bonus in no time flat.

As for the Big East, aside from the wins, the fact that all four teams were the higher seed says something in and of itself. That said, while I don't have many going that far in my brackets (besides 'Nova, Xavier & Providence), yesterday's "4-0" Big East teams nevertheless remain in position to make some hay. What's more they won comfortably (with two games turning into routs) and didn't have to depend on an LSU choking their brains out let alone surviving two very tenuous wins (ND & UNC); victories could hardly be described as "nice job doing what they were supposed to do." :D

the turnaround jumpers and hooks certainly play a role. They are not Hansbrough's getting to the rim but it gets frustrating when they allow contact on UNC's bogs and the slightest contact the other way is called. they also called 2 ridiculous travels on Meeks and the nightly moving screen when they never call one against the opponent. It's just frustrating.

    ACC 3-0!
