To be fair he didn't compare him to Hitler, just that he looks like the rat faced demon spawn of Hitler and Quagmire
It's over 5 hour drive.... or in essence I can drive from Met Life Stadium to Richmond , VA in the same amount of time. I'm not to sure if you are being serious or not.
SD State has one of the top defenses in the country. Duke averages 80.6 ppg I bet they score 70 or less against SD State in regulation.
Point taken BB, that said, I was being somewhat serious in that: Metlife to Richmond scenario: we leave at 7:00 a.m., we're there around noon for lunch at Mama J's, my treat. "G-town" to Portland? 2,805 miles and remember to keep the car running continuously for 41 hours, no pit stops, sleep breaks, etc., i.e. realistically it's a 3-day trip (or a 'pretty penny' flight w/lodging) at minimum. For one stinking basketball game? Doubt it, meaning G'town's not going to "travel well" for this one. And further as to the 'home game,' East Washington's going to enjoy a regional partisan base advantage with respect to whomever those fanny's are in the seats. The only thing EWU and G'town have in common is the word 'Washington' and the locals out west are going to go with the (regional) 'local' underdog vs. the more noted Georgetown Hoya brand from the East Coast. Looking at the map, Portland, Oregon & ECU are next door neighbors; G'Town's 'transcontinental'.
No offense JS, and yes I'm being a dick, but who here took the time to read this tome?...... Lemme 'Cliffnotes' guess: "We did bad, we'll fix it, sincerely yours,"
krashoofski has still been a very consistent winner in the ACC during the Roy Williams era. Duke even won the ACC tournament 3 years in a row recently. The ACC doesn't faze Duke. It's those powerhouses from the Patriot League and the Southern Conference that are the issue. One could also argue that Kryzewski is wearing his team down before it reaches the NCAA tournament.
Duke better hope they have a comfortable win.. For as good as Okafor is, he is a problem not a solution on the floor for Duke in close games. He doesn't play defense and can't make a foul shot for the life of him. They are better off taking him off the floor in a close game late but they won't. So that's the way I think they will lose one of those early games, if they do lose one I mean. The other team keeps it close throughout & wins it in the end with their shooting and taking advantage of Okafor.
still a top team but no outright ACC title since 2006. He dominated that stretch post Dean/pre Roy. w/ the rebirth w/ USA basketball he will now always have top shelf talent but he hasn't proven he can win big w/ the 1 and done crowd just yet and he's likely to lose 2-3 one and dones this year. Their backcourt doesn't miss a FT though, as long as the ball is in the hands of Jones and Cook they are in great shape in a close game.
you're cherry picking. In the "Roy era", Duke has three ACC regular season titles (shared or outright) and five conference tournament wins. Conference tournament wins don't count? They even have a little NCAA success in that timeframe, with two Final Fours and a national title. ACC success they can match anyone from 2004-now, NCAA success they would only take a backseat to UNC (within the conference).
it's been 32 years since an ACC school other than Duke and UNC has won a national title. Maybe Virginia can change that in the next few years.
they have only advanced beyond sweet 16 3 times in that timeframe as well. Tourney wins since Roy came back: UNC 29 duke 22(playing in 1 more tourney) last outright ACC reg season title was 2006. The point remains. it doesn't mean they have been bad but to say they have dominated the ACC wouldn't be true. the conf tournament is a crapshoot. for example, Carolina was resting Ty Lawson in 2009 or they easily win the Tourney. duke took advantage and won. In both of Carolina's title years they didn't even make ACC title game.
Lots of chalk in my bracket. Wound up with Kentucky,Wisconsin,Virginia, and Duke. Real money I bet North Carolina at 50:1 and Wisconsin at 8:1. I like Kentucky but I don't think there's much value in the bet at the current odds. I might have a couple of drinks and bet them anyway.
oh yeah, I forgot about them Gary Williams, Steve Blake, Lonny Baxter, Juan Dixon, and Chris Wilcox who said they dominated the ACC? Duke and UNC have shared that, basically. The conference tournament is a big deal to the conference so it can't be discarded when talking about conference success.
Twas me. Duke is a dominating force in the ACC. Virginia, a team that's been hovering around the top 3 for a good portion of the season's a #2 seed, ND's a #3 seed. And Duke? Once again, a #1 seed. That said, calling Krzyzewski a Hitler look-a-like "that has ruined the game of basketball?" That's an overstatement and a low-brow one at that and the childish 'krashoofski' spelling is gilding the lily needlessly with more slime.
you have some serious issues. why is ok for you to take childish shots at fellow posters and not ok for me to crack a joke about the man who has ruined basketball? duke has not dominated the ACC, again they haven't won an outright ACC reg season title since 2006. they dominated post Dean/pre Roy and that's it. This program also has advanced beyond the sweet 16 just 6 times in the last 20 years. they can get all the 1 seeds they want but 4 FFs w/ all those 1 seeds is not impressive. you seem to be a closet duke fan, that could be where all your little issues stem from.
awesome hackett, how old is she now? or should I say, how long until she's on campus at Nova singing that song with her classmates..
