Sounds a bit like Geno's history and measurables. Bring him in. Maybe experience has taught him to be more controlled.
But they didn't trade for fitz and bring in freeman. They looked at freeman then traded for fitz. Seems to me that the regime has an open mind on geno. He will have his shot for better or worse
I saw that. I just think freeman is a much more well documented failure at this point. Geno has had 2 years one of which zero weapons then another with 1 weapon who was hurt all year. Smith likely is nothing but I think w a competent coaching staff and actual talent around him it would be nonsense to cut him in favor of Josh Freeman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd have no problem with this move either. Teams that dont have QB's need to be as creative as possible. Basically, just throw a bunch of stuff against a wall and hope something sticks.
Give freeman more than 5 days in the jets system and he beats smith in a walk We ( the Jets ) will never get to where we want to go with Geno Smith playing QB here.....rookie contract or not
Bring him in. I'd rather see him sitting at 3rd than Simms. If he can't beat out Simms he's really a lost cause.
Jets realize Geno sucks as much as we thought he did. And if they settle with Hundley in the draft things aren't going to get better.
Geno may not be very good but Freeman is a pile of dog crap. No team in the NFL wants him in any capacity - can't say the same about Geno.
Like others have already mentioned, this happened BEFORE they traded for Ryan Fitzpatrick. They are NOT signing Josh Freeman.
I have good reason to think they probably have a different view of Smith than Idzik did. Let's hope so. One of hte big reasons Idzik was fired was his being all in on a shit Qb.
