Would rather have him as #3 over Simms so why not take a look.

ehhhh. He showed a lot of potential in his first year in Tampa, then the Bucs ruined him by playing him on MNF when he had 5 days to learn the playbook and was concussed. Dont know why he never got another shot. I'd take a flyer, thoughts?

@mikefreemanNFL: Josh Freeman had recent workout with Jets. I'm told he did well. Several other teams taking hard look at him.

About this time last year (April-May) he signed with the Giants but only lasted about a month. They will most likely bring 4 Qbs to training camp so why not him.

Couldn't hurt for competition. He beats the piss out of Matt Simms.

Sure, why not? I'd rather him than Simms as well. Who knows, maybe he can turn it around. Let the three of them compete for the job.

Can't complain about bringing in a former 4000 yard passer I guess

Old regime almost drafted him would be worth a look with the new regime.

He's got a big arm, just a dumb arm if I'm not mistaken. He's never had a "go get it" receiver like Marshall which can change things drastically for inaccurate passers... just ask Eli.

Sign Freeman and cut Smith? I have no problem with that.

Fine as a TC body. Don't think he'll ever (re)make it as a first choice QB because of his inaccuracy.

I'd rather have Aaron Rodgers than Josh Freeman, but I think I will go with my gut on this one: SIGN FREEMAN!

Might as well bring in anyone they can. At minimum it shows geno there not fucking around and will have no patiabce for his bs. I think fitz is the day one starter, but I'm holding out hope it all miraculously clicks for geno and he becomes a solid pro.

Schiano ruined this guy IMO, but Freeman doesn't give 2 shits about football either. I don't think he was ever a winner to begin w/

    He won't make this roster

Confidence issue with theses guys... Minnesota did him no favors, signed him threw him into a game that week. He made sanchez look like Montana, I don't think he's thrown a pass since.

Freeman is damaged goods. He offers little, nothing exciting about this potential signing.

I don't hate bringing him into training camp. Why not?

At one point, he looked like he was going to be a decent QB. There's no harm in signing him for TC -- maybe he shows something that we don't see or haven't seen.
