If he cant you pick up an hb in the 7th, a UFA or someone off of someone elses roster. In my opinon other then kicker RB is the least valuable position and one you dont invest in. but again, thast just my opinion.

Looks like I spoke too soon.

Deal is not done, now 49ers are in the mix.

The article also says that the Jets have interest in Stevie Johnson. Seems like the Jets are looking to add at least one more receiver now that there are reports of interest in Johnson and Shorts.

What a difference two years makes? Two years ago it was Nelson, Kerley and Cylde Gates take the field for Geno's rookie season. I guess they figured out that you actually need good players to have a good team.

Yeah I think edge rusher needs to be addressed next, before we add any more WRs. That would put the defense over the top

Is that the CJ Mosley that used to play for the Jets? If so, how is he rated above Vince Wilfork, BJ Raji, Red Bryant, Kenrick Ellis and others? Has he improved that much? Has Raji's and Bryant's play fallen off that much?

Man, you could make a much better WR corps out of the "dregs" listed here than what the Jets have had over the last several years...Crabtree, Nicks, Denarius Moore, Cecil Shorts, Stevie Johnson, etc. They're mostly older players (except Shorts and Moore), but still much better than the stiffs the Jets have had. What a difference a year makes.

    Remaining free agent targets:

Of our own guys, Ellis, Douzable, and Landry are still available.

Looking at the remaining free agents here are some interesting targets:

Stefen Wisniewski C / OG started at center last year and was reportedly seeking a lousy $3 mil from the Raiders
Joe Barksdale OT started every game at RT for the Rams last year
George Johnson DE (RFA) had six sacks for the lions but was tendered at original pick (UDFA)
BJ Raji DT Packers free agent is still in his 20s coming off a season ending biceps injury
CJ Mosley DE another lion free agent backed up Suh and Fairley
Jermaine Gresham TE could be our blocking TE to compliment Amaro
Andre Holmes WR (RFA) had almost 70 yards for the Raiders but was tendered at original pick (UDFA)
Rob Sims OG is yet another neglected Lion available in free agency
Will Hill S started 8 regular seasons games for the Ravens games but was tendered at original pick (UDFA)

What pick would we have to give up for Will hill since he was an UDFA? Guys a stud when he stays out of trouble.

I think in addition to Gresham (who might be expensive, I think Cumberland at $1.9mm can be replaced by Casey or Fells) to pair with Amaro at a cheaper rate.

I can't believe Wisneski is still on the market.

Also would love to take a shot at Hardy on a 1yr, incentives laden deal based on him staying out of trouble.

I think part of it is that a lot of teams got WR help in the last several drafts and this draft could be loaded too so no need to shell out the $$$. Bowe and Jennings just got cut too. Can't imagine all these WRs won't do deals before we get closer to the draft which will further hurt their value.

Original tender gives Oakland the right to match but since the player was UDFA they get no compensation if they fail to match.

I'm really surprised Douzable hasn't been picked up yet and crossing my fingers we can bring him back cheap. Maybe even Ellis too

Ellis is the better player IMHO, if we only bring back one of the two I want him.

I think Ellis is more of a need for us but Douzable surprised the F out of me most of the times he was in for Mo or Sheldon.

I still don't get how Rotoworld lists CJ Mosley as better than Wilfork, Raji, Bryant or even Ellis. It is the same CJ Mosley. I had high hopes for him when he cam to the Jets, but in 4 years he never did that much. There's no way he's better than Wilfork, Raji, Bryant or Ellis. The people at Rotoworld must be a bunch of hacks. They must be confusing his play with that of the Ravens CJ Mosley the ILB.

There are definitely some good players to be had that could help the Jets, but can't imagine that the Jets have any cap space left, other than what is needed to sign the rookies and perhaps a little for an emergency.

A lot of the other guys are old or got injured recently.

It may be more a case of moving the other guys down than moving Mosley up.

I don't watch too many NFC North games so I am not sure how good he was last year.
