I remember one training camp where a reporter wrote an article on all the nicknames the Jets defenders had given themselves. The linebackers were the FBI, the secondary was the bomb squad or something - they sucked that year. Probably should have spent more time practising and less coming up with names to show how great they were...

We've elevated Skrine to superhero status now? I never even heard of him before we signed him and, more importantly, I can't find any information about him after we signed him. The only thing I can find referencing him is RotoWorld blurbs from two years ago saying he was terrible.

 

After watching Kyle Wilson for 5 years, and that bullshit last year....yeah

I wonder when Cromartie and Gilchrist are actually going to sign their contracts. I assume they haven't because the Jets haven't announced it and there is still no data on the details on any of the contract sites.

 

Well, Cro's deal has been announced on ESPN and NFL.com, but not Gilchrist. I wonder what's holding up the Gilchrist deal, since it was reported in the Post on thursday that a deal should be in place on friday (it's now 2 days later and still no deal). Did the deal fall through???

 

On paper, this plus Gilchrisst & a hopefully improving Pryor should give us a pretty solid secondary.

Sadly, they don't play games on paper. Let's hope everyone shows up, steps up, and that Bowles' coaching puts them in position to be the best in the league. Aside from LB, we should be pretty special on defense.
